I don't understand the hype for Parler. Any service without billing that requires you give your phone number to use seems suspect to me, and it fails as a rival social media platform for expressing political ideas by only letting you view people's posts while logged in. It's one thing to set your account to private, but if your posts are hidden to anyone not a member of the site, then you're only shooting your message out into an echo chamber.
