Doesn't seem the President can do much of anything unilaterally these days.
People like to say Trump should ignore the Supreme Court, etc. Usually quoting Jackson as they say it. But what they fail to see is that the Presidency is not what it was then. Jackson could fire the entire Executive branch under the spoils system.
Trump can fire maybe 0.0001% of it. The bureaucracy doesn't like elected positions of great power that must change every 8 years. They made sure they were untouchable.
So these days, if Trump said 'ignore the court', the decision would pass down to whatever career bureaucrat got it, and they'd make sure it was a commie, and they'd say no, because of the court. And there wouldn't be shit to do about it.
This reminds me of back in the day when Nike got caught having child laborers in their factories. The United Nations remedy was to make the CEO of Nike the UN ambassador for child welfare. It really says a lot for the overall human IQ that this passed without the bat of an eyelash.
The United States should stay in the UN for the sole purpose of retaining its veto power on the security council. That means that any action the UN wants to unleash against us with actual teeth will be shut down. If we leave the UN, we will be classified as a rogue state and the rest of the world will be allowed to attack us without consequence.
By rest of world you mean the Big Boys Club, which the USA is a founding member of. If we want to talk to China, Russia, France, etc... we can just talk straight to them. No need for a middle man. Same goes for the smaller countries too.
Here's my counter offer: We leave the UN /and/ keep our veto power too!
During the US Invasion of Panama, 7 irrelevant, pissant countries tried to get the UN to issue a resolution demanding immediate US withdrawal.
It was vetoed by UK and France in addition to the US. If you leave the UN that only leaves us in the UK (France has shown itself to be an unreliable ally since then) who will definitely veto in your favour in any future issue, unless you do some crazy shit like invade France. Actually we probably would still definitely veto in your favour if you did that lol.
Seriously though, even though a military threat to the US is unlikely, the UN could be a pain in the ass if they wanted.
Yeah could you imagine Somalia launching an attack on the USA .. they’d be sending child soldiers after child soldier until America is finally defeated
"The Council consists of 47 members, elected yearly by the General Assembly for staggered three-year terms. Members are selected via the basis of equitable geographic rotation using the United Nations regional grouping system. Members are eligible for re-election for one additional term, after which they must relinquish their seat."
This is BS .UN should be accountable for many atrocities it itself have committed in the name of peace, especially in the african regions and middle eastern regions
lmao. 75% of these governments condone female genital mutilation, and/or have an active slave trade. I'm not even kidding.
Lold hard at that list, they’re laughing in the worlds faces w that shit 😂😂😂
Can the President unilaterally take the U.S. out of the UN? Or does he need approval from Congress and or the Senate? Asking for myself.

Control Africa and you can control the UN. Its no wonder the Chinese invest in African infrastructure to spy and control.
Somalia has a functional Government?
Barely. Last month 4 of their officers killed a man by kneeling on his neck and the entire place erupted in riots.
Wow. That place sucks. I feel sorry for those that have to live there.
Imagine If someone was to immigrate from that country to the United States and then hating the US so badly that you try and destroy it too?
Holy shit, that was amazing. LOL
Cut ties with China.
Brussels? You bigot. Mogadishu can house them.
Backholes of the World, Unite!

Lol no. Cuz we are the only consequence.
And when the rest of the world declares war on us because they do not like the outcome of our elections or the ruling of our courts?

I feel like the US navy communicates well.

The whole system of international "justice" and "fairness" post-cold war is built on the back of American Military power.
Yeah could you imagine Somalia launching an attack on the USA .. they’d be sending child soldiers after child soldier until America is finally defeated
Mauritania didn't make slavery a crime until 2007, and didn't enforce it.
Yeah....
Time to leave the UN.
"The Council of Human Rights, which concerned itself with restricting freedoms."

Well in fairness, they are the foremost experts in torture and oppression.
You idiots! It's supposed to be a council on how to PROTECT human rights, not how to VIOLATE THEM!!!eleven!
US is cucked to the UN. Defund.
I usually hate eminent domain, but we should use that on the UN building and build another trump tower.

Turn that ugly monument to globalism into a parking lot
