Dot has always had very strict rules regarding painted roadways. See the link I just provided.

In fact, some salty losers around the country have been successful using these DOT guidelines to call out the “Blue Line” painted in between the yellow lines in front of many police stations around this country.

I’m going to say the city had no right to issue a permit for that to begin with and we should be chanting “jury nullification” at their trial (for a hate crime?!!).

I’m proud of those two for standing up.
