When the media heard that a man named "Zimmerman" had killed a young black man, they were ecstatic that they finally had what appeared to be an unjustified white-on-black murder they could use to inflame racial tensions and promote anti-white hatred, which is their obvious agenda to those paying attention. When they found out he was Hispanic, rather than let the opportunity go to waste, they cast him as a "white Hispanic."
