Oh no, I understand, and I agree. I also understand the southern grievance, but I also understand the black person's grievance.
I also think Lincoln's personality flaws caused a whole lot of people to die. Not too keen on FDR either for the same reason.
I don't think they should take down the statues. If the people vote to have them taken down, then sure. They should not be taken down by random thugs. I do think they lost, but I also understand the southern's view and have some sympathy for it to some extent.
I actually look at it from a state's rights perspective more than slavery. If cooler and more rational heads had prevailed, a lot less people would have died and slavery would have been phased out over time. With it being phased out without the southern animosity, there might not have been the racial hatred that caused things like Jim crow laws, etc. I mean, are the Irish crying about reparations right now?
You kill a whole generation of people, there's going to be a lot of consequences for a century or more. Every time you're mad about the confederacy, a black man's mad about slavery. At some point you gotta let it go and move on.
Who gives a shit if some people are offended? You know that there are black southerners who like the flag too right? Oh, or is it only the woke black people who only have the "correct" opinion?
At some point you gotta let it go and move on.
trying to ban depictions of the flag isn't really letting go at all

I don't agree with banning them. I just think they're tacky, but that's a personal preference.
Then what do you mean by
then?
