This is not a serious question. It is a loaded question asking us how we should be allowed to use firearms against mobs. There is no right answer to that question.
Recent events have shown that any attempt to defend yourself, whether or not it results in bodily harm (including to yourself), is going to be prosecuted AGAINST you to the fullest extent of the law. Regardless of whether you're in the legal right to protect yourself, you will be required to pay a lot of money to a defense attorney and you will almost undoubtedly be at the mercy of the courts and quite possibly an activist judge depending on where you live.
My best answer to this obvious loaded question is: RUN. Get away. Escape the situation however possible. Firearms should be an absolute last resort even if you do not have a duty to retreat. It is not easy to live with causing serious bodily harm or even death, regardless of the situation. Do not use a gun to defend yourself unless you are completely out of choices.
Carry a trauma kit in your car to deal with gunshot wounds in case you yourself are shot. Chest seals (aka occlusive bandages), gauze, tourniquet, and Israeli Z-fold bandages are very helpful for dealing with traumatic injuries. Chances are if you're smack dab in the middle of a mob riot, the ambulances are going to have a great deal of trouble getting to you. If you are facing a single perpetrator, you can attempt first aid until EMS arrives. If you are outnumbered, don't dare try because you will be overwhelmed and your weapon will be used against you.
Call 911 as soon as possible to let them know you are in danger. If you're forced to escape first, prioritize getting out of harms way before contacting the authorities. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.
Make sure you are abiding by all state and federal laws when carrying a firearm. If you are not allowed to carry a gun inside your vehicle by state law without a permit, then get a permit. Take a training class and learn how to safely handle your firearm and shoot accurately with it, as well as schooling yourself on failures like ejection, feed, and failure to fire. Guns don't always work perfectly like you see in the movies. Purchase a reliable firearm from a reputable manufacturer (hint: Taurus is garbage) and function test it at the range with at least 50-100 rounds before carrying it on your person.
Stay safe, and use your best judgment. This is a dangerous world we're living in, and it's progressively getting more dangerous.
