They completely changed the way they made them about nine years ago. Brilliant and very long lasting shoes prior to that. The best old formula ones are significantly heavier.
I think some of their cheaper shoes might always have had issues, but the mid to top end ranges would be great - I.e the heavier ones with thick padding.
I’ve had several pairs where I’ve just worn them for 10+ years until the soles have basically worn through or gone completely smooth simply due to the amount of use.
If anyone can suggest an alternative I’m all ears.

Vans suck imho. My kids wanted them for many years, and they always fell apart. Converted then to Converse.

Aaah, makes sense with corporate penny pinchers and China QA. Most products have suffered similar fates.
