TRY THIS REBUTTAL:
Passage of time doesn't make you correct. If it did, by definition, what is correct now may not be correct in the future. If anything, what you are saying is that this (statue, team name, corporate logo, etc) has been "incorrect" for some time yet nobody really has had a problem with it.
I know this is next level logic, but it's still pretty rock solid as far as I can tell.
Their argument resembles, in a vague way. the "appeal to authority" logical fallacy.
Yes. I think it's an appeal to majority rule, but by definition the majority rule doesn't exist.... otherwise it would be a mute point.
