TRY THIS REBUTTAL:

Passage of time doesn't make you correct. If it did, by definition, what is correct now may not be correct in the future. If anything, what you are saying is that this (statue, team name, corporate logo, etc) has been "incorrect" for some time yet nobody really has had a problem with it.

I know this is next level logic, but it's still pretty rock solid as far as I can tell.

One thing you can do if a stupid argument annoys you is to substitute a different subject and fling it back at them.

"It's 2020 and we still don't have 50/50 men to women representation in prisons"

"REEE they're going to undo Obama's legacy!" "It's time."
