Hi everyone this is my first post on this site. Just a quick background of me I have been politically influenced because I lived in California growing up then moved to Ohio and will soon be going to the University of Oregon. I'm more progressive/liberal on social issues because I support gay rights, believe in climate change, support of public education, and Asian Awareness stuff. But I'm more conservative on 2A where I'll defend your right to own a gun, but personally won't own one, I'm Pro-Life but will make the exception to cases of rape, incest, and underage pregnancies, and now I'm anti-war bring our troops home. This is the first election cycle where I'll be able to vote. In the primary cycle, I was a Tulsi supporter because I felt like she had a good message. But what got me off the fence as a moderate was that the democratic party went so far to the left in such a short time that felt politically homeless. When I look to the left with a lot of my "friends" just pushing woke left trash that is regurgitated posts on Instagram where they only cite the ACLU and Feminist Instagram pages. And when I challenge their idea they call me racist, sexist, etc. Then when I look to Trump supporters they can actually have a rational conversation where I can change my mind on many issues. But what got me to "jump off the fence" was when my friend said that I should vote Biden because I'm Asian after I posted a Free Hong Kong post. And I got fed up and said that I'm not the Democrat's pet and I don't need a white liberal telling me what to do. Even though I disagree with Trump on some issues I fully support him now. Thank you if you read this post and look forward to having some political conversations.

Welcome, man. Be careful, Oregon is going to push you toward new levels of leftism. Anyway, there is no need to love everything about Trump, the election is easy- America,it's freedom and history and success, or the new US, tethered to China, and the woke leftists who want to break all our stuff.

Too bad the Beavers are on a downslide because I love a good football rivalry where it could go either any year

Sports for me just feels natural as I've invested so much as a player and as a coach that I could care less about the politics of it when I see a big hit in a football game. But I've grown to appreciate nature as I talked with my teacher on a retreat with school, how he found God in nature, and it hit me when I was driving to Cannon Beach and just saw the big trees.

This is a great example of the rot in academia. It was the case that philosophy used to o being every discipline, by way of logic. You weren't studying the ethics of soil stratification, but logic was required to have a thesis and defend it because principles like non-contradiction inform how our brains work. Now they expanded humanities to include anthropology and sociology only to then supplant philosophy. Wacko Christian School get called out when theology takes over and rots every discipline. What you describe is the secular equivalent. How does physics work? I don't know but let's conjure the most woke people we can imagine to tell us the rules of Nu-physics. It's utter crap. Just like no one respects a nursing degree from a Scientologist school, no one should respect a degree from these places. But what can you do when the rot is pervasive? It isn't a segment of higher learning...but it's now the engineering schools too. I was talking to a friend about how the US needs a third great awakening, a spiritual revival that informs the core institutions. But they already have. Instead of Christianity, in the last 20 years the revival has happened but not to a Christian God. The wokeness has come, and Obama is it's prophet. And I am afraid we will have a bumpy ride for a generation until this wave Peters out.

The Left coast is a mono-thought hive.
