That literally means that three people out of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of unique page views per day on this website didn't like what you said.....
That assumes there were zero upvotes but I get your point.
There are lots of right identitarians on this site. It's the reality of the situation unfortunately. Are they in the majority? no -- but they are some of the most active users. There is some overlap in their viewpoints, but are largely extreme in their views. They are here to recruit people. Most of us see through it.

I think on this site, I've been more concerned about the fake internet points because I've understood them as coming from people I largely agree with. I don't care if some blue-haired, reddit leftist downvotes me, that's expected. Here, if I'm being downvoted by patriots, I'm a little more concerned and want to at least understand.

I would think the people downvoting you on that thread take a "fight fire with fire" approach to the whole thing. It could be a disagreement about tactics.
I also think a lot of whites are tired of the constant barrage of anti-white hate from outside this site. It's nice to have a place to have pride in historical figures and not be slammed because "white-privilege", etc.

The whole 'white history month' or whatever this is referring to is pretty stupid but the sad fact is that the only way we have a chance of winning is by playing the identity politics game to our advantage.
The left and political/globalist establishment (same thing) are not interested in judging people by the content of their character - only by the color of their skin. This has been clear for quite some time now. They want the destruction and utter subjugation of white people and will stop at nothing to get it. They believe that non-whites are superior, or at least are pushing that belief for political purposes.
If white conservatives don't wake up to this unfortunate reality and start playing the "game" that is being played then we will be run over roughshod.
I agree, to a certain extent, you need to play the game. But at the same time, we should be changing the game. Trump is playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. To that extent, I honestly think "American Pride" month would trigger more people and expose more hatred.
I think its mostly political, although some people do hate white people. For politicians, they view minorities as weak and helpless victims. So if they are "on their side", then they can see themselves as heroes, and get enough votes to maintain power.
That's what Trump is doing and did with the Mt. Rushmore speech despite the media's outright lies about the content of it.
Certainly the masses are indoctrinated enough that showing any sort of white 'pride' at all these days is a dangerous game.
I do find the 4chan 'It Is OK to be White' meme pretty great because it might wake some white people up when those signs are getting torn down/people are being threatened with arrest just for publicly making what should be a completely innocuous statement.

I don't know the context of the conversation, but as I'm reading it, it seems you're conflating the celebration of American history (as it current stands) as somehow engaging in identity politics. I'd argue changing anything about Independence Day is messing with American identity. Regardless, we don't aim for inclusivity points here. It's love this country, with all of it's successes and flaws, or go fuck yourself. Doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement, but the core message is basically "in the quest to appease every diverse opinion that exists, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". Understand that mindset, and you'll understand the downvotes. Don't take them personal.

Lots of people don't really understand the point of America and most people are children that are boring so they want to live vicariously through their ancestors or people who look like themselves (race) who are actually interesting.
The fact is that America is all about "who you are in not based on who your parents are."
This makes boring people scared because they are only interesting because of the accomplishments of their parents, grandparent, or people who kind of look like themselves.
Independence Day is just fine as it is, no need to rebrand to appeal to the woke mob.

Right identitarianism is just as bad as left identitarianism. You cannot fix one with the other... they only breed more of the same anti-individualism. You are an individual before all other aspects of your life. Shitty individuals come in every race, color, political belief and heritage. Shitty individuals tend to blame all their troubles on other groups. Don't be shitty, treat those you meet as individuals first.
They only way to have a united country is if we share the same cultural identity. Having people subscribing to different cultures is what fragments the nation.

I don't really think we need an American Pride month. White pride month is, in my understanding, mostly to point out the hypocrisy of the left. To them, black history month is good but a white history month would be evil. Still, if we're proposing additional made up awareness months, I think American Pride month would better expose the hatred of the left. But, if we are being realistic, it'd probably be turned into Minority American Pride month by the left.

I think I am in total agreement.
I'm not suggesting that people shouldn't celebrate their heritage. My heritage is also German. At my wedding, we played a German polka to encourage my grandparents to get on the dance floor (also because I like it too).
At the same time, I am first and foremost American. I would not consider myself German. I am native to America (Native American?).
I agree that we don't need more pride/awareness months. My proposal was more for the triggering/meme value.
My thought was that an American pride month would serve to expose the anti-American sentiment of the left and further demonstrate the hypocrisy of the left. For them, it's good to celebrate any identity/trait that could be labeled 'minority'. But celebrating anything that could be labeled 'majority' is evil.
American history should be the only history taught here. There shouldn't be a black history or a women's history there should only be american history. Kids should be taught the good parts of our history, not just the bad and ugly.

Every month is black history month. Every month is white history month. Because our history is both black and white.
So "American Pride month" kind of misses the point. I think that's what people were taking exception with.

I still think American pride month could do better at highlighting the silliness of awareness months because it would expose the anti-American sentiment of many leftist Americans.
