That's the question I posed my doctor as he called to tell me the news that my Covid test came back negative.

I'm 30 years old and I live in Texas. I came down with a 102 fever in late June, horrible body aches (as if I had spent the previous day doing yard work all day), diarrhea, a cough, overall exhaustion, and a pressure headache right behind my eyes that lasted four whole days. In my area of Texas, we have a heat index of 97-105 most days because of the humidity.

My wife is pregnant so we've been staying inside more than we would have otherwise. I came down with the bug first and quarantined myself in case it was Covid. All of a sudden my wife and cat start exhibiting symptoms.

There are no other respiratory viruses going around in the Texas summer heat that infect humans and cats. 100% we had Coronavirus. But my test came back negative. As soon as I told my doctor that my cat was coughing now too, he told me to ignore the test and just act like we're positive.

There is some serious fuckery going on in the labs here in Texas.

Knock your wife up again and make sure you aren't sterile

This is such supreme paranoia - you could've had 999999 other things and you might just have some mold infestation going on.

Okay, UltimatePistachio. Thank you for your medical opinion.

The fact that you don't know me or where I live, but jumped to mold is a little strange.

You shared your experience and that's my opinion. Did I strike a nerve or what? YOUR CAT WAS COUGHING TOO?? MUST BE THE COVID!!!!!11111!!!

You're right, Covid clearly doesn't actually exist. There are other respiratory viruses going around in Texas, during the summer, with a 105-heat index. You are absolutely correct.

Am I doing this right?

You're right! No other disease exists! It's all just the covid!

My parents had some respiratory virus going around all of their cats about 2 months ago. They are all indoor cats so who knows where they got it. Things like that happen sometimes, doesn't really mean anything.

Edit: And no, I doubt it was this covid-19 junk and even if it was who cares, everybody is acting like it's the end of the world or a death sentence or something.

It wasn't even as bad as my worst cold.

I have one indoor cat who got sick after my wife and I did.
