Why is American society so obsessed with being trans? It's like such a small fraction of the population.
And ofcourse I suppose it's a bit tougher for them because it's so uncommon, but if it's successful and all, and you manage it well so that you somewhat fit in, which is true for most people, then there luckily rarely are problems. It's not as if society didn't already incorporated it fine, or atleast was on a perfectly fine track. Live and let live.
This is from West Europe, and we do have less trans talk. Is America so much more hostile to them?
Do you also not think for a fraction it is a solution to their troubles?
It's not as if you experience a lot of harm. Like I would disencourage a transition for my childeren because I believe 1) the role of sex is rather irrelevant. And 2) you have to adopt to the situation given to you. And I would encourage them even though they don't feel suited in their body, I am sure they can make it work.
But if technology offers them a solution for something impacting them so severe, why deny that solution to everybody? Like it would not be my choose but at a certain point people are free to do whatever they like.
