I'm in Canada and we did that but the government gave special treatment to a few companies and the price is too high so most stick with the black market. The only good that came out of it was you could grow at home which is what I do. I'm no expert but it's fun and gets me higher then anything I have every bought.

I roughly get 10 Mason jars out of 4 plants which lasts me about 3 months before the next grow is ready. Also send some to friends for "testing".
