Take a look at his interviews. Came off as an enterprising person who stepped into an opportunity. Hard working traits. Not the figurehead of a revolution the far left might have hoped for.
I actually liked him a lot. He was a go-getter and he was very tough on border security. I also thought that it was racist for Democrats on Twitter to criticize him and call him a "war lord" because he was in favor of law and order. Some mocked the issues within Chaz, but remember that he did that with almost no time to prepare and no money. Rome was not built in a day, after all. I would love to see him register as a Republican and serve as the Mayor of the City of Seattle.
I'll be perfectly honest, I never really had anything against the guy. I thought it was all hilarious, and the fact that the guy with the most guns and initiative immediately took control shattered any illusions the left tries to make in order to cover how taking out the police and the government just leaves a power vacuum for someone to fill.
Never heard the guy talk or his ideals though. I pegged him more as a guy just doing it for shits and giggles and because he could rather than trying to push a huge agenda.
I haven't looked into him because I don't really care, but I decided to suspend judgment after reading another similar comment from someone who had. Not hard to believe he was mischaracterized, because that happens to every visible participant in this retarded situation.

There's nuance there.
