A bit random but been reading the writings of our founding fathers and am currently reading Thomas Paine's Common Sense
This part (it speaks of heredity) just struck me with similarities of today with people (Pelosi and her ice cream, along with family dynasties) in our current government.
People are still people and haven't changed. Reading writings even from thousands of years ago proves this. I highly encourage everyone here who hasn't to read what our founding fathers wrote.
Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent. Selected from the rest of mankind, their minds are early poisoned by importance ; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions. - (Paine, Common Sense, p. 81)
Just wanted to share with fellow pedes. Trump is doing Gods work, I hope he truly can dismantle the machine in place.
The founder's writings are glorious. Reading some of George Washington's letters concerning the issue of foreign influence is eye-opening to say the least.
I absolutely love George Washington's writings. Which makes me even more furious anyone would tear a statue of him down.
Lot of 'deadwood' in DC...
Very nice! Name who is being quoted here ;)
Thomas Paine :P I have that in the first sentence but will add the attribute to the quote as well.
I know! Just wanted to see the name again.
