This is an important little facet of information to understand about the Chinese: they do not integrate. Not the first generation immigrants anyway. The Han Chinese who live in China and most of Asia view their ethnicity as their primary point of loyalty. If you are a Chinese-American, to them you are just “Chinese”. You cannot integrate; you just not integrate.
Now obviously that’s not what a lot of permanent Chinese immigrants to the West and their children believe, but if you’re talking a college student here on a visa? Every single one of the needs to be treated as a spy.
