You open yourself up to serious liability issues doing this type of stuff.. I would not recommend actually doing this as setting traps is generally not legal.
Not really true. You can't have like your front door rigged to explode or anything, but there's absolutely nothing illegal about accidentally leaving some construction supplies in your yard, or having a small hole you meant to fill in but haven't gotten around to it yet. Tons of little things you can do that are very effective, but also totally legal.

Trespassing, Destruction of private property and theft isn't ?
That doesn't mean that you can set traps. Seriously, check the laws.
Honestly, I've been meaning to fill that hole there in the yard for awhile now, just haven't had time to get around to it !

That's all you need, just protect yourself!
Exactly.
So Mantrapping is illegal.
No pitfalls, No Booby traps that incapacitate or kill.
However, anti-vehicle devices like spike strips seem to be fairly common place.
I see them in a lot of places to enforce traffic flow or prevent unauthorized reentry.
You are right setting a boogie trap is not a safe thing to do every where. But leaving construction trash in your yard isnt illegal.

Don't give a scumbag communist prosecutor any excuses.
You use the nails/board/chicken wire/etc. to secure your sign because it keeps going missing.
"Accidentally" leaving something and setting traps are totally different things.
It's only a "trap" if it is successful, and that's what we're celebrating.
If you say so.
