Kansas City gal here - lived in the suburbs for my first 23 years and just last year moved to the “hood”. And let me tell ya, the people here make their neighborhoods this way! Music blasting at 3 in the morning, racing cars through busy intersections. There’s really a lack of care for others. I know at the stoplight near my house I have to stop, no matter if it’s green, because people will fly through it without looking.
My lease ends in a bit over a year and my boyfriend and I know we’re moving to rural Missouri.
We really thought living in the city would make us understand people around here more but it’s done the opposite! As soon as BLM started we knew we could live here much longer, the week of the protests at the Plaza a group of teenagers broke into our mailman’s van and stole all of the packages, FROM THEIR OWN NEIGHBORS!
Sorry for the ranting! But I’m glad the federal agents are coming to assist the city. Yet there are still ignorant fools I went to school with who are crying and pleading for defunding the police..
