I serve on the school board of a small private school. We have some teachers with "high risk" relatives but they will need to take precautions beyond what we are implementing for fall classes. To me, the teachers are there to serve the children. The biggest pediatric association in the US strongly came out to state that the dangers to the students not returning to school outweighs any risk for fall classes resuming in person and that it is essential for the well-being of the child's emotional, psycological and cerebral development. npr even wrote an article about it on June 29. Teachers are there to serve the child. do your job. implement simple precautionary measures and get on with it like Denmark and Sweden and other nations that lead in education worldwide. I am just expecting some big marches int eh street from "teachers" protesting the admin for endangering their "health". we will see what's in store.but this article leads me to believe that is exactly the next play.
Does anyone understand why we can't have teachers who are judged on results, not on some archaic idea of "tenure" wherein they no longer have to perform their base job duties? If you want to get a paycheck, get some results. It is literally that way in every private business.
Good, they'll find that the ENTIRE country has discovered how useless they are.
bc most teachers are women and/or leftist. They can't use logic, give into emotion, and thus are easily manipulated
Teachers would love to not have to go to work in schools and stay home so of course they will use the virus panic!
