I hate clapping in mass. Even if the homily is really good, you're still in God's house with His real presence (if any Protypedes would like to discuss this tenet of Catholicism, I'm up for it). You're there to become closer with God, not feed the ego of the celebrant.

Churches usually don't clap in the middle of a speech or sermon....
I think they do in Osteen's congregation.
