To an extent. Trump's aggressive and relentless attitude and words are what got him elected. I wouldn't want him to follow after Bernie and try to play the nice guy.

Yep. He shouldn't try to change too much. It's really a messaging question and that extends to beyond Trump in all honesty. To me it's more of an issue of more showing and less telling. The ads have all been on point and so have the speeches.

Considering he's running basically unopposed at this point he has limited options outside of Twitter, TV interviews, etc.

The problem is that the Twitter account has gotten stale. It was effective back in 2016... back when people thought, "holy shit... is he actually going to send this from the @POTUS account?" Now they know that he will. I agree that he needs to focus on his more traditional bully pulpit.

Honestly knowing Trump I think he's sand bagging it a bit right now. He's a master of timing- best ever in politics no question- and he all but foreshadowed that his Presidency would be something of a partially scripted "heroes journey" type reality show.

If you remember some of the early Bannon stuff it's pretty much laid out.

That is my theory too. He is now President of the United States, so he is privy to stuff that we could not even dream of. He is ALWAYS one step ahead. I have closely followed the man since 2015 and I know that he is a master of timing if nothing else. I also heard him pretty much say at one of his rallies that he was going to dump all of the information about the spying on his campaign in 2020, right before the election. That must have been in 2017 or 2018. Surprisingly that comment got very little coverage in the media.

It is sort of amazing how he clearly laid out all of his tactics in Art of the Deal - including the fact that he loves to be underestimated - and yet everyone seemed so surprised by what happened in 2016. The book could have served as a layout of his campaign strategy. It is ALL in there.

His opponents are also not very smart. For all of the stuff we hear about how organized, well-funded, and loud they are... these people nominated an 80 year white guy who probably has dementia. Trump supporters could not even dream of doing that kind of damage. It also was not us telling Hillary not to campaign in Wisconsin.

I agree with Rush, but I am not on board with posters who say Trump can't do it or that we are on the brink of losing the country. God is with President Trump and He is with the United States. That is ALL that matters. I just hope that whatever comes in the next few months not only gets the President re-elected, but also completely destroys the Democratic Party for at least another generation.
