Simply put, politics - especially todays politics - are toxic. The ideals and goals of the left are to demoralize and gaslight all opposition. Many do not want to subject themselves to this. Another reason is because we are not politicians, we are not political activists, we spend our time and energy focusing on our own lifes path. It is these two reasons - which reinforce each other - that keep the majority silent.

I work in Hollywood. Total dream job that I never thought I would get but it’s obviously chock full of Leftists. They constantly complain about Trump, REeEee over his Tweets. They’re obsessed. I keep my mouth shut so I can keep my job. So far, the Woke Mob haven’t come after us and I’ve managed to convey to my Boss that Getting Woke results in Going Broke and even though he’s a Democrat (He’s not a Leftist, just liberal). I made sure to produce many examples and stress that picking a side will automatically alienate half of our audience so just stay quiet and focus on producing television shows and leave politics out of it.
Rest assured they know you’re a conservative and snicker about you behind your back.
I don’t join in on the Trump hating. I’m pretty sure I lost a client over that not too long ago. I was setting up an e-commerce system for his business and he ranted about Trump everytime I came to his office. The money was good and then one day he called me up and said he won’t be using me anymore. I was almost finished with the work. He just ghosted me.
Even if you don’t talk about your personal political opinion, if you don’t REeEee when they REeeeeeEee, you’re suspect.
I do the same thing, but lately they are spouting this "silence is violence" bullshit. I wonder when our parent corporation is going to dictate to managers that they must take a knee on the manufacturing floor to express support for our black workers and BLM?
I'll never do it, but the woke mob will never be happy until they make you conform and obey.
