I just finished a conversation with my boss' boss, telling me (as nice as he can) to make all my facebook posts both future and past as hidden as possible.

When I asked why, he made it clear. People are having their lives ruined by posting a maga hat and he was looking out for my best interests.

I work for a fortune 500 company, multi-national and my position is pretty damned important (only about 10 people are in my position in a huge multi-national company) and my boss' boss is warning me against having my whole life destroyed.

I can't tell if I should be mad, sad, or terrified.

Man... I completely empathize with you. I work for a major entertainment company also at the high executive level (probably fewer than 20 women are in my position across my sub-company) and I have stopped activity on all my social media and had to unfollow many conservative pages. Coworkers are actually investing people and digging into comments and followers of the conservative media/influencers. I am more scared than upset because I do love my job but I know my silence is definitely part of the problem :(

It's unreal. STASI methods, USA just like DDR, East Germany where everyone spied on each other
