CPS is certainly flawed but there certainly are cases of sexual abuse and physical abuse and neglect that they do intervene positively for a child.
I worked for the Texas department of family and protective services and I remember teachers as being the best reporters of actual abuse along with law enforcement. Teachers didn't make shit up like neighbors, friends, and family members. Teachers always had locating and identifying information for the kids. And many knew what to look for and were close to their troubled.
How many months have some of these abused kids seen no one but their abusers. Now we want to keep that going for the next year.
Sad.
