I use magpul flip up iron sights. Can still mount an ACOG or Eotech with these. They are super reliable and hard to break... This way when your scope fails, you have a contingency plan.
Forward grip isnt necessary but you can get a tacti-cool forward grip that doubles as a bipod if you like shooting in the prone
Get the forward grip if you dont know how to use a sling properly, they help a little but ARs have little to no recoil so its really about your preferred shooting stance
For a really decent red dot, go with the Sig Romeo 5. Auto turns on and off and is rugged water proof/ resistant pretty sure up to 3 feet. Buy gen 2 pmag magpul magazines super cheap and very reliable. Less than 13 dollars each. Look into forward grips from magpul. Keeps you on target a bit better. Look into a drop in trigger set and find out if you prefer a 2 stag or a 1 stage trigger. I prefer 2 stage cuz it's what I'm used to. Or you could go ham and get a binary trigger.
Streamlight Polytac led light for a rifle, no question.
KZ offset flashlight mounts are criminally underrated.
Just REMEMBER: If there is a screw anywhere on your gun that is not meant to be easily removed, it should have thread locker. No exceptions unless you're building a safe queen.
If you're gonna do it, do it right. Would rather spend extra money up front then buy 3-4 different setups and spend more money lol

So, would you recommend just going acog and the flip up irons vs a red dot with a flip up 3x and the iron sights?
cant go wrong with acog and iron sights.

Never owned an AR, my orders in, will be in hands in 4 weeks. Want to get the accessories ahead of time.

Red dot is all preference, just don't skimp on it OR the mount. Stick with the big boys (Aimpoint, eotech, etc)
Magnifier you can go cheaper, mount is whether you prefer twist off or side flip.
Whatever you want on the vert grip, just stay away from Tango down. A few of our SWAT guys had them sheer off.
Thank you. Am looking at Trijicon acog, or an eotech holographic combo.
Any recommendations on a sling? Light/mount?
Original SOE two point bungee sling.
