probably not but he doesnt run his mouth about it. who knows maybe recent events opened his eyes, he doesnt seem totally unreasonable.
the worst thing i could find was a sketch he did with stephen colbert in 2016 where they try to go back in time quantum leap style and try to convince him to stay out of politics but they fail and trump ends up being elected pope. i couldnt find any other references by scott to trump.
apparently there is a quantum leap episode where scott convinces donald trump to get into real estate..ill have to find that episode some time.
i can look past that, he was still a good captain. watching some solid scott bakulacting always brings a smile to my face. always disappointed that the canceled enterprise and cheaply killed off trip.
even stewart who totally didnt understand the character of picard or what star trek was about or what made it interesting, despite the lunatic bullshit he believes i cant dislike the real picard when stewart didnt have his poisonous opinions defiling everything.(obviously the other writers of st picard are also highly culpable)
I've always admired him since Quantum Leap. Growing up in the UK, we got a lot of that stereotype square jawed American hero type, but he was unique with a fatherly presence and brains as well as brawn.
I am still annoyed his first scene on Star Trek: Enterprise wasn't him sat in the captain's chair and saying "oh boy...", and that they didn't even reference it when Dean Stockwell was in an episode.
Actually been thinking about that episode. Recently rewatched the whole of TNG and that episode stood out to me as I remembered hating Jellico and thinking he was a total asshole when I originally watched it as a teen.
Rewatching it I had the complete opposite reaction: He was totally, 100% correct. Riker was the asshole, unequivocally.
I subsequently sought out this video and was glad I was not alone in this.
Best Enterprise Captain.
I wonder if Scott Bakula is based? He seems like he would be.
4 donations to the Obama campaign in 2012, so probably not.

Dick Jones!
He's wanted for murder apparently...
...SPARE PARTS FOR 25 YEARS! WHO CARES IF IT WORKED OR NOT?
The old man thought it was pretty important....Dick.
Seriously though, hugely under-rated character actor. Best corporate shark ever!
