Not all rap is degenerate - watch Lupe Fiasco show how modern gangsta rappers are the same as old-time blackface - it’s a fake persona these rappers put on - powerful video and actually a good song about how degenerate black culture is at least partly the result of false images and negative role models pushed by the rap industry https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=emb_title&v=C3m3t_PxiUI

The tragedy is I only have one upvote to give.

When you are racist yourself, you don't see this. You think that caricature is real because you have no actual real black people in your life that you care about. And of course, the clowns know how to monetize this caricature.

"Racism is not dead, but it is on life support — kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as 'racists.'" - Thomas Sowell

Sounds like anecdotal evidence. FBI crime stats say otherwise. Its pretty damn real for quite a bit of black youth.

27% of all crime, 53% of murders, 54% of robberies, 29% of estimated rapes, Black community has a crime problem and in order for it to be fixed you have to be honest about it. "i have black friends that are cool" doesnt mean problems dont exist.

You might now understand me. What I am saying is that black (and white) artists use the thug image to sell their shit. And then yes, that does influence more black crime do kids know it is an act? Now they think that is THE legit way to be. And then you correctly note some key stats on how bad black criminality is - the gangster shit clearly has an influence.

Recall the Saturday Night Fever was all made up. There were no disco moves like that. Disco wasn't even a thing, ffs. But amazingly everyone acted like that was the only way to do when it was clear there was only one influence.

Ironically, woke pan queen Janelle Monae tweeted about this last week. How all this shit needs to stop, blah blah blah. They are fucking eating their own now and it’s great to watch. What I’ve learned from the woke crowd is that they are a bunch of weak minded individuals that cannot take any criticism of any kind. Everything is a micro aggression and they think they can just magically disappear all bad evil thoughts in the world. They are fucking horrible and people like them should never have any power.

I mean at this point id say a lot of these rappers definitely did crime at some point and then got out of it by becoming a rapper.

The question is does their culture dictate the music, or does the music dictate the culture.

What they rap about and portray is black people in america. If they as a community changed their ways and fixed themselves maybe the music would change aswell. If it stayed the same then it absolutely would be 100% fake.

Damn, I love you for this, pede. I have loved smart hip hop and felt for the black community since I was a teenager for this very reason. Held captive by the very people they THINK are there to help them. It’s fucking heartbreaking. They deserve better.

Glad you liked it - I especially love how he shows how fake the whole gangsta personality is - essentially the same as a clown, acting a part. There is some kind of conspiracy theory that gangsta rap was started by some shady people to help fill the for profit prisons - there was a time when hip hop was positive and uplifting, now it’s just blackface

Why arent more people in their community saying what Lupe says in that song?

Case in point, Snoop Dog. Total pussy that people believe is hard as fuck. It's an act. In a fair fist fight most of us would have him crying for his mother.

I agree that some hip-hop is great. To your point, Reggie Watts also has a great song where he makes fun of black gangster culture in rap. "You take some shit, you take some fuck, you got a fuck shit stack, a fuck shit stack come on."

I remember .. Was it when eazy was still alive? Making fun of then fledgling rapper snoop saying he was 90 pounds wet and with boots on, and calling him out for being a "studio gangster" good times.
