I've sailed in and out of many coves etc that had names like that. Never knew that Narragansett was a tribe. So much rich history that's been ignored!

Do you know how much your tribe's population was reduced by small pox and pneumonia etc either before or immediately following contact with Europeans? This is a circumstance that wasn't taught when I was in school, and a lot has been "learned" about since. I'm thinking it must've been known all along, but was just ignored. I'm also curious how this came to be accepted, after being dismissed for so long.
