It’s ongoing. I have four kids, age 30-40. Two of them think we are complicit in racist culture by virtue of being white, two have more courage when it comes to their heritage. It’s an ongoing conversation. Don’t think you’ve “failed”. If they are hardworking independent people, that’s most important. The amount of Peer Pressure out there is insane. Keep being the good role model.
The ONLY logical and moral way forward is (MLK’s) colorblindness: All Americans Are Equal. Any deviation leads to envy, extortion, authoritarianism, racist inequalities.
