Lawyer was also quoted as saying "I mean honestly they were all asking for it, just look at what they were wearing!" And then he pulled out a briefcase full of compromising photos of various celebrities, politicians, and royalty with underage children in various states of undress.

No way, the left never blames the victims.

Also, off topic, do you have Irish Wolfhounds? Amazing dogs and one would match well with my Airedale. Gentle giants right?

Definitely being sarcastic. If that “View” interview that he had happened to anyone else, it’s all he over. He’s either blatantly guilty or completely incompetent. IMO both.

Judged by the position of the female vagina, it will not be easy for anyone to just put their finger into the vagina unless there is some cooperation from the female herself. That is why I believe Tara Reade’s allegations are false.

Hahaha. Ya, fuck up/down votes anyway. Glad someone got the reference. Fucking Democrats, imagine the outrage if a Trump said that?

6

I think it's possible, but the actual situation would not have been as clear cut as commonly portrayed.

Social pressure, setting, maybe some alcohol would inhibit an immediate rejection response. Heck maybe she even did like Biden until the reality of him utterly creeped her out.

Sometimes people (both men and women) willingly enter physical situations and only realize too late what they've gotten themselves into.

Well to be fair that is the defense lawyers job to say 'Oh no not my client they are innocent it's all a huge misunderstanding etc'. This is why lawyers are some of the most hated people on the planet because the corrupt ones will do their best to get a client off which they know are guilty and evil human scum. I hope there is a special place in hell for every last one of them that does this.

19
Jubal777 19 points ago +19 / -0

My grandad once told me, "We all hate crooked lawyers until we need one."

He was somewhat infamous for an incident involving a stolen police motorcycle and a night of drinking when he was a young man. Maybe not the best role model, but wisdom comes in all forms.

4
SquiggyMcPepe 4 points ago +7 / -3

Stealing a bike and driving drunk isn't really comparable to running an international child sex slave ring and doing things to children that were far far worse if the rumors are to be believed. I don't mind a lawyer bending the rules for the former since your grandpa only hurt himself but it takes a special type of soulless scum to shamelessly defend the latter.

6
Jubal777 6 points ago +8 / -2

It's all or nothing bubba. I hate it too, but if it ain't all or nothing then that gets to be something the mob determines. Sure, we get to give pedophiles the shaft today, but what about tomorrow? If we started down that road how long do you think it takes until the mob says that our sons don't get a defense for rape charges? How about hate crimes? You better believe those wouldn't get a defense either.

1
Shadilay_Were_Off 1 point ago +2 / -1

Quite honestly I think there's a difference between defending someone where there is a reasonable doubt and defending someone you know is guilty as sin. The latter is immoral, even if it has a legal purpose.

4
TickleMissle 4 points ago +4 / -0

What part of innocent UNTIL proven guilty don't you understand?

-1
Shadilay_Were_Off -1 points ago +1 / -2

What part of "that is a legal standard and not a belief that individuals are required to have" don't you understand?

3
Jubal777 3 points ago +3 / -0

Who makes that call? What do you base that decision on, feelings? Yours, mine, the mobs? The point is that we as humans are all flawed. We are not omnipotent.

It's not so much a legal purpose that motivates us to compel a legal defense as it is a moral one. Knowingly defending someone who is guilty might seem immoral, but even accidentally condemning an innocent certainly is.

2
Shadilay_Were_Off 2 points ago +2 / -0

Who makes that call?

Everyday people.

What do you base that decision on, feelings?

Facts, which exist with or without a legal ceremony.

The point is that we as humans are all flawed. We are not omnipotent.

Neither is the legal system. It has condemned men to die falsely. It has also allowed injustices to go unaddressed in the name of procedural purity.

You don't need to be omnipotent to judge the facts of a case like this.

0
Shadilay_Were_Off 0 points ago +1 / -1

You keep saying "what about the mistakes" where I'm talking about the cases where there was unambiguously no mistake. That's what the word "know" means.

An example would be those shitbird libs who were assaulting people at rallies and were caught on video from multiple angles. They still get a trial to preserve the legal system, but they're fucking guilty of what everyone with a pair of functioning eyes who can watch a video saw them do, well before the judge bangs a gavel.

Signing up to defend someone for this (likely on a technicality, like the police didn't say the "you have the right to remain silent" spiel right or something) makes you a shitty person. You know they are guilty because you literally watched them do the thing they were accused of, and you try to excuse them from the consequences of their behavior on a procedural technicality rather then them actually not doing the thing they were accused of. That is immoral.

1
xopi 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're not always defending them being guilty or not guilty. Sometimes even the best attorney won't be able to get you out of being punished. What they are looking for is the best outcome for their client. Meaning their goal could be to get an as lenient of a punishment as possible. If you do a crime that can get you between 5 and 10 years, although yes the best possible outcome is to have the charges dropped, but finally getting sentenced to 5 is still a pretty acceptable outcome

3
iamherefortheluls 3 points ago +3 / -0

if the rumors are to be believed

how about if just provable facts were to be believed?

I am currently watching a country crack apart because a lot of people decided its fine to believe rumors. Not eager to jump on that bandwagon

1
SquiggyMcPepe 1 point ago +2 / -1

I'd say by this point if you haven't found enough proof online from reputable sources that these evil fiends were into blood rites and sacrifice then dunno what to say mate. Remember just a couple of years ago epstein's island and the idea of billionaire pedofile networks was 'just a rumor'.

1
iamherefortheluls 1 point ago +1 / -0

actually I legit haven't seen a proper lay out of what the whole Epstein debacle was about. Everytime I tried to search about it, I get flooded with search results that just make references to 'accused of' etc..." but no actual details.

If you know of a good summary with sources, would appreciate.

-3
Scroon -3 points ago +1 / -4

That's not wisdom. It's a fallacy.

He's saying "we all", suggesting that everyone is at risk for becoming a criminal and needing a crooked lawyer.

But not everyone is at risk for this. If you're not stupid, evil, or selfish you will never need an unethical lawyer.

A better statement is: "Everyone who is not a criminal hates crooked lawyers. Criminals love them."

5
Jubal777 5 points ago +5 / -0

Every one of us is ALWAYS in danger of running afoul of the law. All it takes is bad luck. It may be an accident, or a simple mistake in judgement, or a misunderstanding of the law, but it's never a certainty that you will avoid it.

If you think that it can't happen to you, then you're a fool, or you haven't been paying attention. Look to the motorists that find themselves surrounded by a mob and forced to flee for their lives only to be charged later. There are people on trial right now for clear cut cases of self-defense. What about the young men falsely accused of rape? (Ask a Duke lacrosse player how they feel about defense attorneys.) History is replete with evidence disproving your argument.

3
RocketSurgeon22 3 points ago +4 / -1

I have to say, defense lawyers are necessary evils depending on which side you believe.

-1
SquiggyMcPepe -1 points ago +2 / -3

I'm not talking about the common defense lawyer. Those are of course needed to counter harassment and wrongful accusations and other abuses. But the ones who willingly and knowingly defend dregs of humanity need to burn. Nothing is stopping them from refusing the client past greed and probably a wicked personal life themselves.

4
RocketSurgeon22 4 points ago +5 / -1

So no defense representation for those "deemed" as wicked? Sounds like social justice. I believe all people good, bad and evil deserve fair trial and representation.

-1
SquiggyMcPepe -1 points ago +1 / -2

How did you get that? I didn't say they shouldn't be represented but by God there are evil crooked lawyers who will gladly work the devils magic to get other evil people out of jail and allowing them to keep doing evil. Your statement sound's a bit sjwish.

2
MaxineWaters4Prez 2 points ago +2 / -0

They're bound by their fiduciary obligations to defend their client. Immoral and disgusting as it may be to do so.

1
SquiggyMcPepe 1 point ago +2 / -1

You can always return your retainer if you find yourself in a moral dilemma. Or just choose not to represent evil people after you hear their case and they admit yeah they raped and murdered children in job lots but here is a pile of money if you can beat the case.

Defense lawyers are the absolute scum of the Earth.

20
DrPepeTheFrog 20 points ago +20 / -0

Its a truly hard job for decent people. I know several and for every case in which they get someone who is actually innocent off, they have to put up with the actual absolute scum of the earth 20 times over and they live for the few good people they are able to help.

Not saying that this specific meritless comment isn't clearly retarded, but everyone is entitled to a defense under our legal system, which is an important part of what makes this country the greatest on earth.

7
JustHereForTheSalmon 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's hard to admit, but I'm ok with some criminals getting away with it if it means no one innocent goes to jail.

But in the general case, plenty of innocents go to jail. That's not the fault of a defense attorney, that's a system designed to get people to plead out or bankrupt them to prove their innocence.

In this specific case, c'mon, we all know she's super tight with the child sex trafficking biz, lolita express tours, and all the dirty dealings with Epstein. That's stuff we know as the general public, imagine what's out there locked away in filing cabinets and under court seals. That her lawyer took her case is clearly a case of scumbag lawyer looking to get paid over the raped bodies of children.

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
DrPepeTheFrog 2 points ago +2 / -0

The goal is that nobody innocent goes to jail, and everyone who does go to jail is proven innocent beyond a reasonable doubt. Do we inevitably fall short on this sometimes? Sure. But we as a country still hold these goals and ideals in high regard and it is very important that we continue to do so.

She's entitled to a defense and representation, and if she can't afford one, one will be appointed to her. In this case she certainly can afford one, and there's a few higher profile attorneys that do make a living from representing generally reprehensible individuals. To quote Mike Rowe, it's a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

Ultimately what matters is that the prosecution has enough evidence and does a good enough job to convince 12 individuals of the overwhelming weight against her.

3
YoLLamaIsSoFat 3 points ago +4 / -1

Why?

They have a job to make sure the prosecutor proves a person is guilty. Whether they did what they're accused of or not, the state should always have to prove its case.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
2
YoLLamaIsSoFat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well, overwhelmingly they defend people did what they’re accused of, and they try to use every trick in the book to avoid actually addressing that, as they tend to lose hard on the elements.

Of course. If the defense can provide any reasonable doubt, why wouldn't they?

I see your point with the rest of your post and tend to agree that it's immoral to do those things, but again, defense lawyers have to go to every length possible to have charges proved against their client.

I never have been or plan on going to jail, but if I'm ever accused rightly or wrongly of a crime, I'm getting the best defense lawyer I can afford. You should too.

1
Ghostof_PatrickHenry 1 point ago +1 / -0

You speak from an idealistic position of privilege, because you have never had a family member ruthlessly murdered by a wealthy sociopath, with equally ruthless lawyers. (I have)

Innocent until guilty yeah yeah yeah right to fair trial yeah yeah yeah I believe all of that.

But you’ll find that when the rubber meets the road (ie one of your kids is dead) that the system overwhelmingly favors criminals, and there is no justice in this country.

1
YoLLamaIsSoFat 1 point ago +1 / -0

I literally have had a family member murdered by a wealthy spree killer; I still feel the way I do.

The system doesn't favor criminals. Unless you live in an area with incompetent cops, most districts will have a 95% + conviction rate.

This country and its justice system is bigger and more important than either of our family members, it's fine the way it is.

Exactly. You want to hope that it was true that they were watching her while they were building the case against her, but with all the traitors in DC right now, I think there is a better than average chance of her lying her ass off about President Trump's involvement to save herself.

Of course he would eventually be able to prove his innocence, but as we have already seen on several occasions, once the news cycle is over the truth doesn't matter anymore.

she was first approached by the pair in 1994 at a summer music camp in Michigan

Jane Doe first approached in Michigan but does anyone know the city? Jonbenet Ramsey's parents had a summer home in Charlevoix, which is way up north in the lower peninsula. I'm wondering if Epstein and Maxwell got familiar with the Ramsey's during this time. Charlevoix is a really rich people playground so it wouldn't be too farfetched. Jonbenet was killed two years after the meeting that Jane Doe mentioned meeting Epstein and Maxwell. For reference, Charlevoix is about an hour north east of Traverse City and about 45 minutes south west of Petoskey if you are doing the speed limit.

Unnecessary but fun knowledge, tourists in Charlevoix are called "Fudgies". Inhabitants who live up north but still in the lower peninsula are called Trolls and people who reside in the upper peninsula are called Youpers.
