I was just listening to this. Crying my eyes out because this same story is echoed in my family which also came from Cuba. So much heartache. Lives destroyed. Futures ruined for dozens of people in my family and my community.
Do not let the United States fall, it is the only place left. My grandfather was my age when he left in 1962. I can't imagine having to start over in a foreign land, not knowing the language, but I thank God every day that he had the strength to do it.

The best thing that has ever happened to me, is Fidel Castro. Without him, my family would not have come to this great country. My parents would never have met, and I wouldn't be here.
My mom spent 20+ years living under Castro and references useful idiots all the time. It's obvious to anyone that has lived through a communist revolution and has seen the destruction of their country and the downfall of their society.
This man is 100% right. My family, his family, and countless other families had the United States to provide refuge, but what who do we have?
If you analyze the Cubans of past generations, like this man, and my parents, versus the Cubans that have never experienced anything other than Castro's Regime, it's a sad, sad, sad reality. They destroyed everything Cuba had to offer: its people, its language, its culture. Gone.

I've watched the entire meeting today and many times I wanted to cry. Their stories are equally valid for anyone who lived in any part occupied by communists - whether Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia or Africa. Communists take everything you have, they destroy your soul and mind and make you complicit to their crimes. That's why so few people escape and they have no fear to talk against it, because they know the truth and they are free. Don't accept the chains of communism! Remain free!
Who is chopping onions in here? So many Americans can relate to this story. My parents fled from Communism in Poland bringing nothing with them but hope for their family's future. God Bless this man and his family, great Patriots. True Americans.
