Hi pedes, due to the local school district coming out with the dumbest back to the school proposal they could come up with, my wife and I have decided to home school our kids this year. Does anyone know of a program that teaches actual education and not leftist programming?

I grew up on the Saxon Math curriculum and I'm only sort of an idiot! I'd recommend their books.

I used Switched on Schoolhouse when I homeschooled my daughter a couple of years. It is Christian-based, but you can pick and choose which modules to include and you can take out the Bible lessons if you're not into that.

https://www.ronpaulhomeschool.com/ - been around a longtime.

https://www.fpeusa.org/

Also look into co-ops. There a many and helps spread the work load. I'd link to some but there are way to many sites that try to connect you. Best to search locally

The fpeusa one looks good but its waaay out of our budget. They want $2400 per kid. Ive got three kids!

I know. That's why co-ops are good. And each parent shares in teaching.

If you are interested...Classical Conversations is at the top of the heap. Classical ed: Latin, History, Geography, actual mathematics, physical and biological Sciences., etc...all agenda-free. They promote the mentioned co-ops, which include tutor time as well as the formation of sports teams, ballet, and orchestra. We have such a group meeting in our church once a week. A terrific Program, which just now...letter went out this week...has moved Co-Op activity (in my State at least), to home bases. They will NOT be impacted by State mandates re schooling!

Contact Homeschooling Legal Defense Association, hslda.org. They have an immense amount of homeschooling information available. My wife & I woulda been lost without them when we homeschooled our kids, plus try to find a local association of parents in your area, who can give you assistance specific to your locality, answer whatever questions you may have, & give you moral support.
