China cannot beat the United States militarily. But if the United States was smashed into pieces, China would gain world dominance.
For instance, if California or New York we're an independent country, they would cozy up with China immediately.
At the same time, breaking the United States into pieces would basically turn the Midwest into a rural area focused on the production of food. The Midwest would no longer benefit from the revenue generated by the coasts, and the defense that it affords.
And keep in mind that this has already played out in our lifetimes; Yugoslavia was split into pieces just 25 years ago.
It's not about curing racism, which they are fully aware isn't a problem (when it's white on black, anyway); it's about showing you they're in charge.
Go paint over one of those and see how fast your arrested versus what you've seen on the other side.
