Like everything else in medicine, there are errors in covid testing. I firmly believe that if we had some magical 100% accurate testing, the data would show over 5 million current cases - which would show the disease is less deadly. A lot of tests don't have high sensitivity and it is easy to get a poor sample. Likewise, there can be false positives for some tests, where another coronavirus aside from covid-19 triggers a positive.
This is why we shouldn't be relying on day to day testing results to guide economy changing decisions. The long term trend is clear. The disease is nowhere near as deadly as originally thought. Far more people have the disease than we realize, and the vast majority of them will not need to be hospitalized.
This is why YOU DON'T FUCKING GET TESTED UNLESS YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE FOR TREATMENT.
I don't fucking get it. Well, I do. The fear mongering has the Karens and soyboys scared so they get tested for something they wouldn't have even thought twice about just 6 months ago.
I don't even get tested for the flu when I'm sure I have it. Why? The same treatment is gonna happen, stay home, rest, and plenty of fluids.
Every person I know who’s had the Kung flu, usually were asymptomatic, and had alternating positive/negative/pos/neg test results over the course of a few days. I know this because these are younger people that needed surgery or some other medical procedure, and had to be cleared before the docs would proceed. It’s insane how inconsistent this is with regard to how the public is being forced to react. Insane.
Wait... Am I getting this right.... He took the test because his wife had allergies and tested "positive" for covid.... He tested positive... He and his wife quarantined together for a few days missing work and scaring his children... Tests negative a week later... That is 2 false positives within the same family. My B.S. senses are going haywire.
for those who don't have the time to search, here's an archived Miami Herald article: http://archive.is/1ZlHR

Edit: seems to be working now.
The CDC has not reported a Flu death in over 5 months.

I'm pretty sure if it was 100% accurate there would be ZERO cases.
they dont even need tests anymore. they just tally any death as covid.
they dont say testing is needed anymore cus President Trump touted it
and knew it would lower the morbidity rate.
so now its all about spikes in cases. aka guessing
