W/o those shutdowns it is already behind us.

-Early on there were few test. So only critically ill people were tested thus a high relative mortality rate.

-Dem Governors, Murphy, Cuomo, Whitmer, forced Wuhan positive elderly patients and some random patients into nursing homes or back to nursing homes. Still a large percentage of deaths to this day are from nursing homes.

-Statistically ZERO deaths under 45 if relatively healthy.

-.3% mortality rate at 65.

-Median age of death from Wuhan 82. That's the median.

-Antibody studies world wide destroyed the narrative. Therefore, they started testing everybody. Time to focus on confirmed cases per day. Confirmed cases is a useless metric. Antibody studies have proven that far more people have been infected than confirmed. The CDC director even said at least 10X as many have had it and it not been confirmed. Therefore, the critical case rate and mortality drops even more.

-There is Zero risk to children.

All of these events occurred in a timeline that looking back one would have to conclude this has been about the election the entire time.

Been joking with my dad about this for weeks, that things will "mysteriously" get better sometime around the first week of November (guessing the 4th-ish for some reason, hmmm..) and the media will act like it's some kind of miracle. This shit is about controlling the election and controlling people, nothing else. We should have opened the country back up fully a month ago. If people are scared of "killing grandma," grandma can stay fucking home, sorry not sorry.

A reasonable strategy is to tell America the following:

-The mortality rate of this virus is statistically very very low. In fact it is less dangerous than driving your car to work.

-There are some people who will struggle with it and we know that profile. It is: --Those w/ Hypertension, diabetes, extreme obesity, and untreated heart disease. --Those w/ immunodeficiencies. e.g. Someone battling another disease that has their immune system compromised. --The elderly who have chronic health problems. --Those recovering from recent major surgeries.

If you are in the above groups, please take precautions.

If you are not in one of the groups listed above, get off the COUCH and GET to WORK. The Free $$$$$ are DONE!

I'm a cynical asshole I suppose because it feels like "reason" departed this whole mess a good few months back. People are either in hysterics or they're so fed up with the government overreach that they'd sooner breathe in a big steaming bag of "virus" than listen and obey another minute. The first group's not gonna listen and the second group's just preaching to the choir. I agree, telling them NO HANDOUTS and making them get back to life is probably the only choice.

The first group is so enamored with the "it's deadly!" narrative that they literally will not listen to anything that makes it less deadly. You can show them data and talk common sense to them, and they just close themselves off or more typically call you hateful, selfish, ignorant, etc.

This. They're living in their own little "end-of-world" movie in which they're the star. Us telling them "it's just a flu" just pulls the carpet right out from under them, so they won't have it.

Yep, my parents. I keep explaining facts to them but they still especially my mom want to be so fearful of this virus. It's insane and frustrating! They won't listen to actual facts, context, logic, and perspective.

It's entirely treatable. A Physician in Michigan who was silenced by the FEC (And likely Whitmer) has come out with his patient study which has received peer review. They can't silence him anymore. He treated 107 patients, 0 deaths.

China is a Communist nation. They don't respect life enough to tell the truth.

You can't even trust the death toll! We've been deceived

While i do agree that the virus is being used as a tool for the election, I don't think the lockdown is that deep. Italy and Iran both did complete lockdowns (with Iran's still being active) with no connection to our elections.

It's 70/50. 70% bullshit being used by the media, and 30% a real concern.

And Japan did nothing and only 870 people died

4
BoilingEnema 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well there aren't any large cities with a high population density in Japan to facilitate the spread.

3
ripturntle 3 points ago +4 / -1

So you have never heard of Tokyo?

But the Japanese have a history with dealing with Flus efficiently. As a whole, their culture is a lot more uptight and strict than the average American that throws a McDonalds bag out the car window while his muffler wakes up everyone within a 2 mile radius. But i do agree with you

My guess is there are a few factors there. Obesity is a major contributing factor to the death rate; symptoms like hypertension are more of an issue, and the amount of adipose tissue around the neck, for instance, will make breathing problems much worse. It's also harder to put an obese person on a ventilator. Obesity is much more common in the USA and western Europe than in Japan.

Japanese culture prizes discipline, so like South Korea, I would guess the Japanese public is much more open to strict government policy.

Whatever they're doing, they're doing well, though. Japanese population density is incredibly high, since most of the population is packed into massive cities like Tokyo outside the mountains. And Japan is low in natural resources like oil and even arable farmland, so they depend on international trade.

Just going to add to that median of 82...that is lower than life expectancy. Make of that what you will.

This needs to be higher.

What we are witnessing is a wholesale mobilization of nearly every institution in our country toward the goal of dislodging Trump. This includes corporate media, multinationals, the medical establishment, Congress, and, to a not insignificant extent, the courts.

Why? Money. Trump is a threat to these groups because he’s trying to cut regulations, bring back jobs, limit immigration, and take a more realistic stance against the Chinese government. This is all slated to make life for the groups above (and their dependents) a lot less profitable and more expensive. And with re-election off the table if he wins again, they fear he’s really going to take off the gloves.

Things are going to get a lot more interesting between now and November.

TheNewRepublic 3 points ago +3 / -0

Trump should plow through this..the more testing done will eventually dissolve the mortality rate making anyone calling for shutdown a clear enemy of the people.

They never report recovered cases

Frankly, at this point, I don’t even believe the tests are real. Influenza is being classified as a nonexistent virus.

1
dataonly [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Very valid questions have emerged regarding the rate of false positives in the test. Also assembly line testing produces a higher rate of mistakes that normal testing procedures.

There are literally people claiming to have signed up for drive thru testing, get tired of waiting after signing up, leave w/o the test, then receive a confirmation of infection in the mail.

The scientific validity of the test is also in question.

At first I didn’t believe this, thought that was out there as far as conspiracies go. Damn was I wrong.

1
sjdude 1 point ago +1 / -0

Original CDC test kits were contaminated. Wondering, now, if the tests being used actually contain the virus, you know, to further spread it?
