Thanks very much for the thoughts. I've only shot a few times and certainly actually doing it changed how I felt about it.
What do you mean by your last paragraph? Are you advocating for stricter punishments?
I mean specifically that the the neoliberal and the liberal need to come to the table and discuss the behaviors of the criminals they themselves have created. That gun control is an excuse used to circumvent discussions on their own failed policies as well as the reality surrounding the human condition.
Some things are inevitible as horrible as they are. The left is just dishonest about their intentions which is why they lie or ignore some of these horrible realities.
Conservatives, for all their clumsy attempts at pointing this out, are vastly unprepared for this debate. It is too easy for the left to stand on the graves of dead children without having to debate how those very lives ended up buried in the ground. This is a place where politically the modern left has to be brought to heel and forced to face what it has created.
I actually agree completely. I think every American agrees that we would like to solve our problems - but those who turn it into a popularity contest in Washington spend more time painting people they don't like as enemies and less time actually thinking about solutions.
