I think at this point we have had too much immigration, specifically from one country.
We live in the Internet era, people can get any resource anywhere in the world. The era for US immigration needs to come to an end.
There needs to be some time for healthy consolidation. Else you are just forming pockets of people in other countries that just move in nearby their own people. Even if they are doctors or professors, they still do this, little integration.
So they should be rewarded by jumping to the front of the line because their guardians broke the law? What would you say to the people who have been going through the, as you describe, arduous process and will be getting cut by the DrEaMeRS.
I am sure there are ten of thousands of amazing, hard working, DACA recipients. But just because they benefited from illegal immigration by moving here young is no reason to grant them amnesty over others who have been going through the process the right way. It is a shame the US can’t have unfettered immigration like at the turn of the century but we just provide way too much welfare now.
this has nothing to do with DACA, it's about prioritizing legal immigration based on merit. the people who will most benefit us by being let in get priority over people more likely to be leeches.
The good ones that are carrying their weight...let them have a pathway to citizenship...but do not allow them the ability to sponsor any of their family.

This DACA thing looks like 4D chess. As Ted Cruz just tweeted, there is no Constitutional precedent to do immigration by EO. Only Congress has the power to do stuff like that. So now Trump can say "Hey at least I tried". And now Congress has all the pressure to come up with some kind of deal that includes more border wall funding and merit-based immigration. When Congress fails to do so (and they will) DACA recipients will know who their true enemy is.
