Whether they knew it it not, the Johnson / Weld campaign's only purpose was to be a pawn for the establishment. They were treated as such, getting surprisingly more and favorable coverage than previous third party campaigns exactly until the point it was clear they took more votes from Clinton than Trump. Then, suddenly, in one interview, half way through a question about health care, the entire media establishment decided to refer to the war in Aleppo, where previously it was in Syria.
I've been a Libertarian for a good while. I voted Ron Paul before it was cool. Looks like I need to change that party preference. Problem is there is no fucking way in hell I'm hitching my wagon to the GOP, those fucking windowlicking gutless retards are half of the reason we are where we are now. It's like I have absolutely no option now.
I'm in a similar boat. The DNC is actively plotting the destruction of our nation, most of the GOP seems to be complicit if not willing to follow suit, and now this.
I consider myself a constitutional libertarian a.k.a. leave me and mine alone and respect what the founding fathers put in place. I don't want hyper religious or political zealots telling me what I can or cannot do.
Get involved in local politics. It's easier to get elected in a smaller jurisdiction. Good local politicians work their way up. Trump is a extreme outlier having his first public office at the national level. It will be hard to change the GOP through repeating his success. It needs to come from the bottom up.
I was just brought back 20 yrs ago when I listened to Jason Lewis after Garage Logic. That was the best talk radio line up. Began with Dr Laura, Rush and my afternoon with Joe and then Jason.
If you needed more evidence that the Libertarian vision will always descend into chaos, look no further than the CHAZ. It was the Libertarian ideal made manifest and it lasted about 20 hrs before it went Lord of the Flies.
What the actual fuck are you on about? You're aware libertarians aren't anarcho-capitalists, right? There's a MASSIVE difference between "hey the government is pretty bloated, what if we cut out the nonessential stuff and let people run their own lives?" And "Lets have no government at all, everyone just does whatever they want". These are not the same.
I even watched and loved the debate with Hillary where he said "Because you'd be in jail." He had all Bill Clinton's rape victims there. How did I not get it then? I don't know.
The libertarian party is stupid. The ideals themselves are good. Kinda like the GOP honestly. Most of them are spineless rats not worth supporting. It's really just Trump who I believe in now.
No one over here is going to shred you for voting your conscience....that's the purpose of voting in the first place.
What the left...and some of the right don't see is that its all a fucking joke anyways. Trumps the only non-corporate owned politician we've ever had in my entire life.
Republican/Democrat.....if you can't see how little that ever mattered by looking at the parallels between the Bush and Obama administration, then I don't know what to tell you.
Republicans, Democrats, the Media, the Corporations, and the MIC they were all running this shit no matter who had the house, senate or the executive and we were barely saved by the Judiciary in most cases.
The reason they want Trump gone is because he's not part of their little incestuous scam job they've been running out of D.C. now since before I was born. He's trying to actually run the country like its supposed to be run, and not pretending government is just a fake front of a huge money laundering operation designed to make marginally talented people billionaires.
So yeah....that rant aside, voting your conscience is always respected here, you could have voted for Hillary, if that was what your conscience said....then good for you.
Glad you're seeing things our way though, we got 4 more years of Trump coming, I sure hope we get another good non-establishment candidate for 2024.
Hey guys I'm libertarian! Look at me! I support BLM cuz that's what a libertarian would do! Riot and loot in the street guys it's all okay under libertarianism!
An absolute disgrace to the principles that are fundamental to the ideology of libertarianism. This is how you can tell apart who is someone who believes the governments role should be limited to arbitration in court, defense of the border and the raising of funds for those two tasks. And someone who just says he's libertarian cause he has no standards.
Gary Johnson single handedly destroyed the libertarian party in 2016. I was libertarian in 2016 and even i knew trump was the way to go! This man is a clown and that party put itself behind for another 10 years after 2016 performance!!
We aren't. The purpose of the federal government is to ensure our sovereignty as a nation. Border security is one of the few valid responsibilities the federal government has to mantain that obligation.
I consider myself a constitutional libertarian and I'm a firm believer in the border. That thing can't be built fast enough. I also believe that the federal government should be incredibly limited as the founding fathers intended. National security and trading mostly. The rest should be left to the states to decide.
I think you're right to consider it a brand. I also have had some major run-ins with other "libertarians" over intellectual property. They're VERY on board with the idea of owning physical property, because of labor, but then radically against intellectual property for some strange reason. I probably wasted over 500 hours arguing with them on that back in the day .... such a waste of time :(
Sorry about that. Sounds like you were arguing with some idiots because I agree, that makes no sense. There's no denying that many folks who call themselves libertarians have no idea what it's supposed to stand for. I've noticed, especially as of late, a lot who sound more like marxists than anything. It's disgusting.
On the subject of Intellectual Property, a lot of the radical anti-IP stuff entered the libertarian movement through a guy named Stephen Kinsella. He's one of the most toxic people in that community, going around astroturfing, acting childish, insulting, slander, etc.
His behavior helped solidify my theory that the most toxic an ideological person is, the more flawed their underlying philosophy usually is. It's like the idea that someone who uses violence has already lost the argument, however in this case, anyone who attempts to verbally has already lost the argument.
The takeaway being you should always distance yourself with movements that devolve into toxicity or violence, and also question if the ideas lead to that toxicity.
I was a little shocked to see a good number of "Libertarians" who seemed somewhat supportive of the protests/riots in the early days of the protests. It was only a subset to be fair, but many more than I would have expected.
I would have thought they would be a little more enlightened about the fact that these incidents are pure race-baiting and media-generated, and that the BLM movement was a bunch of Marxist revolutionaries.
The Marxists have been doing their best to dismantle, astroturf, and attack libertarians. It's entirely possible the people I was talking to weren't actually Libertarians or anything close to it.
I'm mostly libertarian, and think their "open borders" stance is fucking absurd. There will never bee a libertarian society without borders, because outsiders will inevitably flood in and turn it into a non-libertarian society.
Property rights are absolutely essential, which yes, includes the idea of having some kind of border for that Libertarian society whereby you say by entering this area, you hereby agree to abide by our conditions, or be considered trespassing.
In a very distant future where everyone is libertarian, maybe we can do away with borders entirely.
In a very distant future where everyone is libertarian, maybe we can do away with borders entirely.
I don't think human nature allows for a unified global society, unless that distant future involves us becoming the borg or something. We are biologically hardcoded with a limit to how big social systems can get before becoming pathological and eventually fragmenting. And people have understood this for a long time; it's essentially what the Tower of Babel story is about.
To be clear, I don't think that society will ever exist, for the same reasons why socialism or communism doesn't work. Property rights and the ability to say "no" to others is absolutely fundamental to a peaceful and prosperous society.
To be more specific, I imagine something like two cities, Commutopia and Libertopia, and each has their own Communist or Libertarian constitution and law. Commutopia is certainly allowed to be communist within their border, but once you leave Commutopia or enter Libertopia, you have to leave that behind and agree to the Libertarian rules.
I don't think Libertopia would survive for long if they allowed people to come in and change the rules at will. "Libertopia2" with strong "get off my lawn" borders would absolutely out-compete "Libertopia1" with weak-borders, simply because the open-borders policy leads to tragedy-of-the-commons.
libertarianism (note small 'l') is great. The Libertarian Party lost its marbles some time around September 11, 2001 and has never looked back.
I remember when they finally removed their "open borders" plank from their platform in the late 1990s, because they were finally waking up to the reality that postutopian dreams weren't suitable for right-now's political policy. Sadly, they went straight back to virtue-signaling and then dropped a few LSD tabs too many.
I'm not blaming you. For a while I was a registered Libertarian (I just couldn't bring myself to vote for McCain, or Romney). However, Johnson was the biggest idiot I have ever seen in my life, and it cured me of taking the Libertarian Party seriously.
I also voted for Gary and was still on the fence voting Lib up until this year. As much as I hate the vicious cycle of voting between this two party system I finally have confidence voting republican again With everything that has transpired in 2020. Plus now I live in a blue county In Texas, so my vote can really matter.

When you post content on TD.win, it's your responsibility to learn how to post so that others can share and easily spread these ideas, memes, and articles to communities outside TD.win and maximize impact, IMO.
Now you've taken a ton of the energy generated from this Cuck's cuckery and what has it resulted in?
I am not trying to be critical, I see this all the time and I'm reacting to that emotionally, which isn't fair to you.
It is just difficult for me to see such good content, with the potential for more far more traction with large audiences, be effectively wasted due to formatting issues, completely within our control.
There are so many elements we must battle, we don't need to battle ourselves, IMO.
Point taken. I will take screenshots with my computer in the future. Just so you know, the woman Johnson is discussing BLM with is their candidate in 2020. Not Johnson.
Understanding that most BLM supporters are just fooled but big hearted people who do not support the terrorist organization of the same name does not make him bad.
Lolberts are retarded
They could be viable, they just don’t want to be.
What's Allepo?
/pretends to have a seizure and spends the next several minutes flopping around a debate stage like a dying fish
“Allepo is in Syria”
“Ok.. got it, got it......stammering intensifies”.
Whether they knew it it not, the Johnson / Weld campaign's only purpose was to be a pawn for the establishment. *Aleppo
Got it.. got it.
Not at all. Wanting more freedom, personal responsibility, and less government nanny state bullshit are some of the most American ideals around.
Keep seeing people post about Jo on fb as if she’s the next big thing
And to think I once considered myself Libertarian
I've been a Libertarian for a good while. I voted Ron Paul before it was cool. Looks like I need to change that party preference. Also, taxation is theft.
Time for a new party. The Patriot Party!
Not now.
Not this election. Back the gop now and primary each rino, neocon, and swamp creature next election.
We've got to back the gop this election and primary each one of the neocons, rinos, and swamp creatures off the train.
No 3rd party ridiculous bullshit, please.
Yeah, this is what will have to happen if the country is to survive. The swamp needs draining, but damn is there a lot of swamp.
Get involved in local politics. It's easier to get elected in a smaller jurisdiction. Good local politicians work their way up. Trump is a extreme outlier having his first public office at the national level. It will be hard to change the GOP through repeating his success. It needs to come from the bottom up.
Bottom up and top down at the same timd
100% I'm the same. I'm a trump guy!!
We’re trying to Trumpify the GOP
I am still libertarian with a small "l'. The Libertarian party are a bunch of clowns and losers.
I was just brought back 20 yrs ago when I listened to Jason Lewis after Garage Logic. That was the best talk radio line up. Began with Dr Laura, Rush and my afternoon with Joe and then Jason.

He fooled me in 2012. I got a LOT smarter in 2016 (more accurately, he started saying dumber and dumber things).
I even watched and loved the debate with Hillary where he said "Because you'd be in jail." He had all Bill Clinton's rape victims there. How did I not get it then? I don't know.

Yea no shit! I feel bad about that one. Just didn’t know yet lol
Blake is on the Trump train
Oh geeze, I forgot all about Johnson. What a trip we have been on.
What a fucking cuck. I voted for this guy in 2016?
Can I take that back?
I meant to say Liberaltarian Party, but I can't seem to edit the post.
Quad Bricks 🧱 🧱
What does Quad Bricks mean? I've been lurking, but still don't get all the lingo.
The old Spez hole T_D had a brick bot for building the wall, new people that joined were offered a Coat and a Brick
Thanks! I'm glad to be on the Trump train. I thought Trump was Deep State in 2016. Boy was I wrong.
And a Trump Train 🚂 bot too
I miss trainbot, brickbot and coatbot.
She's also publicly taken the anti-racist position, a key element of Critical Race Theory. Probably an excellent sign for DJT.
If she sticks with that message, she'll drag votes away from Biden.
So if you happen to use just the white fist emoji, will people assume you meant white power?
That line of "colored" fists is cringe as fuck.
I regret voting for Gary... He pushed identity politics in the last leg of the race...
After seeing this, I can’t call myself a libertarian anymore. I don’t want to associate with this
The libertarian party is stupid. The ideals themselves are good. Kinda like the GOP honestly. Most of them are spineless rats not worth supporting. It's really just Trump who I believe in now.

What's the war on drugs got to do black people? Is she saying that black people do a lot of drugs? That's kinda racist of her to be saying.

I have almost always still do think of myself as a libertarian, but I do not support any "organization" by that name.
I almost voted libertarian in 2016.
My dad convinced me to hold my nose and vote for Trump.
This year, I would crawl across broken glass to vote for Trump.
The libertarian party has been infiltrated. Shut it down.
Many of us have gone through a lolberg phase, don't sweat it. Just try to pull other "intellectuals" out of it.
All is forgiven as long as you vote for the good guys in 2020.
You should've been out before the vote when he said, "What's a 'lepo'?"
