NPC: "But a HC reform bill which the largest health insurers endorse is surely a win for the people!"

ACA is just an excuse for them to up the risk premium on a larger pool of subscribers. Completely fucked everyone that was paying insurance while changing nothing fundamental for those without coverage previously. Last time I checked it's always been illegal to deny citizens in this country access to basic life-sustaining care. Such bull shit!

I'm Californian. Most of the people who have been here since children don't see any real problem with the taxes and assume that's just how it is. Socialism has normalized ridiculous taxes and big tyrannical government. They can't even process that there was a time with no income tax, social security, and all this other crap. They don't even realize that gas was hovering around $2 almost everywhere while it was $4 here. We can't let them establish normalcy and apathy toward this crap.

I would never need any government “help” if I could keep the 50% they keep from my income and the 9% on everything I buy.

For sure. Taxation is theft. Corrupt politicians are taking that money and giving it to lazy people, people who aren't even American, and keeping some for themselves. Then we need to request a small portion of that money if we ever get into trouble when we could just have that money and not get into that financial trouble.

Oh so most of Californians are stupid sleeping sheep?

Pelosi_Halitosis 19 points ago +19 / -0

We're paying about $27k/year, family of 4.

Wow!

xopi 5 points ago +5 / -0

Isn't it cheaper just to put that money aside and pay everything cash?

Modus_Pwninz 4 points ago +4 / -0

The leftist stance on your post would actually be:

"If you're paying $27k/yr just for health insurance and can afford it, that means you're basically a millionaire anyway. Eat the rich."

The reason is simple. 50% of the country doesn't work. Of the 50% who do work, a large portion has McDonalds bullshit jobs and pay no real taxes.

This means you're paying for several people to have insurance.

My insurance was $0 before Obamacare, my employer paid all of it. Now I pay a few thousand.

If I'm going to pay thousands for slothful losers to have health care, they need to be at my house cutting the grass, painting, cooking. Something.

As someone who has a McDonald's bullshit job. I don't want gov. health care gov. wellfair or food stamps nor would will I take them. I bust my ass when at work, I want more hours when i am not at work. I see plenty of lay abouts $1,000+ in food stamps who are buying soda candy and chips. By the way, I am 6 feet 158 lbs of push up, sit up, pull up, marathon running, and ass kicking mother fucker. If I become absolutely Desperate I'll join the marines.

Don't look at as being desperate. Look at it as an investment in your future.

4
GeneralVeers 4 points ago +4 / -0

Side note related to the above: at the time ACA was passed, about one-third of the uninsured were making more than $50,000 a year. Obviously those people could afford it; the reason they didn't have insurance was because they didn't WANT it.

And I understand why they didn't want it. I've been through the insurance system once; it sucks biblical ass. The only reason you would FORCE people to get health insurance is if you hate them and wish them to suffer. If liberals really wanted to reform health care, they could have made it about actual CARE. They could have skipped the middleman completely.

Paying for you, your father and the Mexican. Feels good, right?

$5000/yr to a company whose business model it is to figure out ways not to pay.

johnbillaby 5 points ago +5 / -0

Obama pushed a lot of your money into the failure fund, for people and their children that will never have a job.

4
TrumpsFavorite 4 points ago +4 / -0

Stop paying it

RBailey82nd 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well at least you have your health.

3
GeneralVeers 3 points ago +3 / -0

$75 a month here.

After Obamacare passed, I gladly gamed the system, got on Medicaid, and paid ZERO a month. I want Obama to know that. I want him to know that I didn't pay a dime into his "reform".

Mexicola1976 3 points ago +3 / -0

It was designed to be divisive and collapse on itself.

3
4more 3 points ago +3 / -0

Exactly. Designed to fail so they could bring about something even worse.

3
Tenpat 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is by design. They wanted the healthy to fund the sick. That is why they put in the mandate. It is also why Roberts called the mandate a tax rather than an unconstitutional requirement to purchase insurance.

I just paid the fines for three years. $2,100 paid for goods or services not rendered.

Jsmitty112 2 points ago +2 / -0

I had excellent insurance until Obama. And I was going through chemo treatments at the time. I ended up paying double what I was for shittier insurance ANDDDD didn’t get to keep my doctor. I have every reason to hate that fuckin piece of shit. But when I say i hate him I’m called racist almost every time. If I was an evil person I’d wish the same situation on these people but I’m not. I wouldn’t want to see anyone get sick like that. But back to the point he lied and he fucked up a lot of people’s lives with no repercussions. Thanks Obama! 🖕🏼

Republicans warned about this in 2008. They were called liars.

Not all of us have goldfish-tier memories.

IbleedOrange 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lucky. I pay $24,000 a year in health insurance premiums. That equals $12/ hour.

As a woman even the very healthy have to see a gyn doc every year for cancer screening starting when u become sexually active. I started at 14 due to feminine issues related to my uterus. At age 39 you add yearly mammograms to the list. If it wasn't for pap smears n mamos I would NEVER be at the docs! We pay 2400 a year for insurance w a 4000.00 deductible. Before Obamacare we paid 1200 a year w no deductible! This year I needed 2 needle biopsies on my breast. Both negative but it cost us over 3 grand! W my old Cadillac insurance it would have cost me 200.00 for each biopsy! Thanks Oblubber!

Indelible_Hippo 4 points ago +4 / -0

The outrageously expensive deductible is what kills me.
