The reason is simple. 50% of the country doesn't work. Of the 50% who do work, a large portion has McDonalds bullshit jobs and pay no real taxes.

This means you're paying for several people to have insurance.

My insurance was $0 before Obamacare, my employer paid all of it. Now I pay a few thousand.

If I'm going to pay thousands for slothful losers to have health care, they need to be at my house cutting the grass, painting, cooking. Something.

As someone who has a McDonald's bullshit job. I don't want gov. health care gov. wellfair or food stamps nor would will I take them. I bust my ass when at work, I want more hours when i am not at work. I see plenty of lay abouts $1,000+ in food stamps who are buying soda candy and chips. By the way, I am 6 feet 158 lbs of push up, sit up, pull up, marathon running, and ass kicking mother fucker. If I become absolutely Desperate I'll join the marines.

Don't look at as being desperate. Look at it as an investment in your future.

Side note related to the above: at the time ACA was passed, about one-third of the uninsured were making more than $50,000 a year. Obviously those people could afford it; the reason they didn't have insurance was because they didn't WANT it.

And I understand why they didn't want it. I've been through the insurance system once; it sucks biblical ass. The only reason you would FORCE people to get health insurance is if you hate them and wish them to suffer. If liberals really wanted to reform health care, they could have made it about actual CARE. They could have skipped the middleman completely.
