Watergate was a coup.

45
Forgototherpassword 45 points ago +46 / -1

Nixon was in trouble because of the cover up, not the break in.

They set Trump up, lost, then proceeded to try to cover it up for 4 years. And we know it went to the white house this time.

We now have to see whether Durham is legit or it will be swept under the rug like usual and the Swamp gets away with it. Kennedy and Nixon were their victims. Pray Trump isn't come January.

BigFreedomBoner 25 points ago +26 / -1

The break in was a set up. It was all a set up. America was happy and prosperous with Nixon. Therefore, the left was miserable. And they all knew how to work exactly in concert to undermine the will of the American people.

Nixon ended the gold standard which gave the Fed Reserve more power

I stand corrected. Thanks pede. I read somewhere that Nixon did it but that is now fake news.

1
MrAlwaysRight 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep the entire thing was a setup. That’s why almost no was held accountable only Nixon.

Just about every other president did worst then Nixon in regards to watergate including every single democratic one.

0
Gallemore 0 points ago +8 / -8

No, Nixon was still a piece of shit. JFK was maybe the last good president before Trump and even he was questionable.

3
MrAlwaysRight 3 points ago +3 / -0

You mean election fraud JFK that made a deal with criminal organizations to become president?

You mean the bay of pigs something hundred times more illegal than watergate?

Let’s not forget the large amount of people who knew the family and disappear. Including the murder of Marilyn Monroe. Unless you think dead people can take drugs.

1

4
BigFreedomBoner 4 points ago +4 / -0

Two bad policies = piece of shit?

cf. Lyndon Johnson, piece of shit.

2
MrAlwaysRight 2 points ago +2 / -0

You have no idea the historical reasons for this do you?

AA was supposed to be a temp measure to bridge the gap of education creates by segregation. It was supposed to go along with increased public education. It was also a lot more toned down than what the left wants.

The EPA was created during a time of massive pollution in the US. Do you want to be like China, actually worst, with air quality being worst than the 1800 Industrial Age? Do you think pumping waste into fishing areas is good?

The EPA changed and got a lot worst. That’s not Nixon’s fault.

You have to look at the times people were in and not compare them to now.

Boris Yeltsin visited the Houston supermarkets. Then left the Communist party on his return to Russia. That's why he became the first president after the fall of the soviet union. He realized the failures of socialism because even the poorest Americans had access to more food than the most well connected soviets.

Nixon opened up China and helped cause a change towards Democracy.

Failures to check China came after him. Allowing China to slip back into a fascist country is the fault of world leaders and businesses after him.

This is false. You’re giving every single person after him a free pass.

Nixon help bring about a reform of China. Huge movements to democracy. The problem is China in the late 1990s started to shift back. It got worst in 2000. Now XI today.

That didn’t start initially the the 70s. Actually Nixon helped bring about democratic freedom and free market growth. Although that stopped after his death.

MrAlwaysRight 1 point ago +1 / -0

Richard Nixon visited China. After these visits China have a revolution of sorts. It began adopting more Democratic policies and open up it's economy. There was a positive reform going on.

What of the things people then talked about, and even Nixon, was that China needed to reach barriers in order to enter the world economy. Unfortunately that wasn't followed.

What happened is a large reform of the country and then it stopped. Authorative powers took control and drove it back into the dark. The country, and the world, allowed it to become twisted.

If the world forced China to adopt human rights and other measures we wouldn't be in the place we were today. They allowed new capitalism in China to become corrupted. Global companies are at the head of this.

I don't think having a democratic and capitalist china was bad. I think it was derailed. The projection of China was to become Democratic and free market by now. That was the way it was headed. CCP leaders who were for that ended up losing, in part due to globalists. That's the issue, not reforming China from a militarist hermit kingdom.

The intelligence community as a whole needs to be disbanded and their few critical functions with regard to warfighting shifted solely to military intelligence answerable directly to POTUS.

The IC is the root of the "deep state" and post WWII has had the primary function of keeping us involved in bullshit foreign wars to enrich the defense industry.

JFK trusted his "intel community" at first and they got him mixed up in the Bay of Pigs disaster and Cuban Missile Crisis. Kennedy figured out who the bad guys really were, turned against the IC, and ended up dead.

LBJ played the IC's game in Vietnam and ramped up our fairly minor involvement there under JFK into the boondoggle it became.

Nixon saw what Kennedy had seen in the IC, got us out of Vietnam, so they set him up and destroyed his Presidency.

Reagan got "taught a lesson" and subordinated himself to GHWB's CIA after his attempted assassination.

The intelligence community under GHWB, Clinton, W, and Obama provided all the "evidence" necessary to keep us wasting US blood and treasure policing the entire world during their administrations. Saddam yellowcake lie ring any bells? Assad "gassing his own people"?

And now that we have had in PDJT a President who's trying to reduce our meddling in the Middle East and bring the troops home (Cute how Obama ran on the platform of doing this very thing but once in office not only never did but also allowed the IC to drag us into even more conflicts in ME shitholes), those very same people in the Intelligence Community have spent the last four years undermining him, fabricating claims and falsifying evidence to try to destroy him the way they did Nixon.

Burn down the intel community and burn down the mainstream media and you would have dismantled 90% of the corruption in our midst.

I wish I had more. I will point out two events to look at.

JFK used organized crime to get elected.

LBJ used his powers as president to spy on Nixon. Furthermore he setup the North and South peace talks in Order to hurt Nixon. Lbj knew they would never work.

Why did people go to such great and criminal lengths to go after someone? Why does history rarely talk about it.

In the Southern strategy Nixon wasn’t going after racists. He was going after poor voters who were being taken advantage of. The one guy, whom was called out as a liar, who said it was because of racism is full of shit. A well known corrupt liar. Remember Nixon was a key figure in the fight against segregation. No racist would vote for him anyways.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was previously named "Warren Wilhelm Jr." and once supported the socialist government of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. During the 1980s, de Blasio was a strong supporter of the revolutionary socialist government of Nicaragua, formed by the Sandinista. de Blasio actually raised money for the Sandinistas (snopes - mostly true even - https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/deblasio-nicaragua-warren-wilhelm/ )
