Yap, real wamens back then. I look back to the 80s with great fondness: metal, concerts, events, fun, massive parties, cool fashion for guys, great TV shows and the women were HELLA hot.
Yeah, industrial, grunge and then nu metal in the 90s. I was just thinking about Korn yesterday, and I miss the days when they actually played that stuff on the radio. Compared to what's on the radio now, that stuff is just amazing.
I'm a little more old school with my metal faves, Anthrax and Megadeath held out for a while into the 90s, then yeah pretty much everything morphed into something else. It was no longer just balls out. Don't get me wrong there's some good stuff from that era just most of the mainstream stuff wasn't for me. It just got too poppy w/ too many ballads and covers.
I did see Korn in concert though with Disturbed like 16-17 years ago. Pretty decent show despite me not being a huge fan of either. Ditto Rob Zombie.
Yeah, I'm old school as well. I was thrilled to bump into Dave Mustaine and his family at Petco on my birthday years ago, just less than a month seeing the Big Three Point Five tour with Megadeth, Slayer (10th time), Anthrax and Testament.
I still got sucked into industrial when it hit, just for something new. No regrets! :D

I have to go back.
The 90s ruined so many of those things, metal especially IMO.
