You can find other articles making the connection. I didn't read this one at all but it has been discussed from left to right. The high number is that one in four transgender people qualifies for an autism diagnosis and those numbers usually come from people in the process of transition. Something else to consider is that autism as a diagnosis isn't exactly accurate, it's just an amalgam of symptoms meaning the connecting thread could be the same in all (which is unlikely, but still). Also I'm not making a scientific judgement here or anything it's just the established research as of now. There hasn't been much work done in the entire field, no one knows what the fuck is going on with transgender people.
Who knows what's going on but scientists tell us there is a correlation and I disagree with you in that this is a leftist scheme since they really don't want to tell us that. It's incredibly politically incorrect. It's not like there is a coherent official position but autism goes towards something that we understand as a disability, defect or disease which is something like the opposite of the official line on transgenders and as opposed to autism the trans phenomenon carries a higher mortality than even most aggressive cancers.
