I don’t know where you’re at but in CA there’s definitely a shortage on all the popular calibers like 9mm and 45 in my area. My best recommendation for a new gun owner here is to get a reliable caliber that’s not either of those alongside any other guns you may get because they have .357 and all that regularly still. Having a variety of calibers also gives you options for different situations in addition to ammo versatility. 45 for home defense, 9mm for practice and carry despite carry not really being an option in CA, etc.

Out local gun shops are quite literally almost out of handguns at this point. Even high end is mostly gone. Don’t bother with a shotgun for self defense if you live in a city in a small space because you’re going to kill everyone in the room and have lots of collateral damage in a state that already hates you for having a gun.

1
Nibba 1 point ago +1 / -0

Go watch a video about spread. Shotguns don’t spread like a garden hose on low.

2
ClownTamer 2 points ago +2 / -0

To my knowledge they now spread about 1” for every 2-3 feet depending on the round and barrel length and grace of god. That’s still a really wide spread for potential ricochets and other things if you’re not at point blank range, and massive property damage potential. If you are at point blank range, handguns win the day for self defense there too, though that’s less ideal for home defense. A 45 with hollow points is my pick, but everyone’s welcome to their own mix. It’s their house and stuff and loved ones. Seems to be Colion Noir’s pick too. Love shotguns, but I wouldn’t use one for home defense indoors. Or in a neighborhood.

It's a shame the NRA became so corrupt. We need a 2A org that isn't broke.

What’s wrong with the NRA

19
DrBJTester 19 points ago +19 / -0

In 2015, NRA contributions totaled $95 million. In that year, LaPierre received a $3.7 million deferred compensation distribution from his "employee funded deferred compensation plan", which was required by federal law, and according to the NRA raised his total annual compensation to $5,110,985.

Minor compared to Obama and Biden but bad enough to piss me off.

6
charwoman 6 points ago +6 / -0

Mike Vanderboegh (God rest his soul) at Sipsey Street Irregulars use to rip on LaPierre so hard for his sell out, roll over and play dead actions when it came to actually assisting state orgs on maintaining and expanding 2A rights. That site is still up, although mothballed. Search feature there still works.

They strongly appose 3D printed guns.

A 3D printed gun is still a gun and should be protected by the 2nd

This was pretty eye opening at the time.. they rather protect the gun businesses vs a 3D printed gun/2nd amendment (which might cut sales)

4
IslamIsEvil 4 points ago +4 / -0

It’s broke because of liberal unlimited lawsuits against them.

1
DrBJTester 1 point ago +1 / -0

No that's not the whole story sad to say. They became as corrupt as other Washington lobbyists. Look up Wayne LaPierre's compensation package.

3
ikuyas 3 points ago +3 / -0

We have a 2A. Stop talking about protecting the 2A. They will take your guns without taking 2A away. Then, they will strip 2A away.

11
Cyer6 11 points ago +11 / -0

They did take an oath to uphold the Constitution. This is what I think happened. The corrupt state attorney kept pressuring the PD to arrest. The PD resisted because if they thought it was an arrestable offense, they would've done it as soon as the video went public. They didn't and still haven't. The state attorney got to the St. Louis city council and mayor who then put heat on the police commissioner who caved. He ordered one of their investigators to walk the state attorney's pre-prepared search warrant over to a judge selected by her. Warrant signed and orders given to execute it.

The warrant could not have been based on sound probable cause. In the affidavit, they have to establish that the evidence they seek in the warrant was or could've been used in the commission of an offense. Again, what offense? Brandishing? That's a crime that requires context surrounding the circumstances. There's justifiable reasons to believe their lives were in danger and Missouri is a castle doctrine state. They did not assault anyone nor was there a negligent discharge. The warrant violates their 2nd and 4th Amendment rights. Corruption to its core by all parties involved.

Exactly, I have a LEO friend who said the same thing. If you have a home defense situation, use the weapon you can part with the easiest. He said "Dude, if you have to defend your home because a bad guy broke in, do not use your WWII serial number M-1 because you will never see it again. In NJ, we will have to take the weapon and because it was used in a death, we will never return it to you." I have taken those words to heart.

This is at least an attempt at doing things the right way. However, the real problem is communication. Building a network and organizing these types of things. Even building a framework for people to operate in cells and a way to combine those cells in time of need.

That's what all these communists are doing with their surprise protests in the streets. They're practicing communication and organization.

Sounds like something the Boog Boys would do. 🙄

Bill Barr was trying to intimidate us from doing just what you are suggesting, imo.

21
siliconia 21 points ago +22 / -1

You mean copy the communists tactics, so we're not reinventing the wheel? So we're not playing catch up? We don't exist, so we're not doing anything. We're individuals taking individual actions, that just happen to coincide with what other people are doing at the same time.

14
ProphetOfKek 14 points ago +14 / -0

Oh I agree with you, and we should. But you can see that the government sides with commies any day of the week over patriots wanting nothing more than to defend their way of life.

6
ProfessorOak 6 points ago +6 / -0

It's also worth mentioning that any communication and organization should always stay off things like Facebook, Twitter, or texting. God help you if Google let's the FBI know that you and your wife decided to make a plan in case an angry mob starts burning down your house.

There's no charges filed, they weren't arrested, and there's no doubt from all the video that they did not break any laws. So how'd they get a search warrant, and under what pretense did they seize their firearm?

Quick PSA for everyone: when government repression comes down on us, it will be the police that enforce it, not the military. It's been the police that enforced the covid-19 lockdown, the mask wearing, and preventing business owners from defending their businesses, and now disarming law-abiding gun owners.

I am very pro police and very pro law and order. But never forget that these guys work for local governments, and they will follow orders.

11
joexdelete 11 points ago +11 / -0

Exactly this. I respect police but they are gonna tow the line

Sorry folks your local Sherrif and deputies probably won't but your state police and local city police absolutely will follow through with unconstitutional laws

Of course, the Commie loving cops took THEIR weapon, but I'd wager, never even look for any amoung the mob. The cops are working for the mob it seem, I am sure they have orderers to destroy this Symbol of American Freedom in any way possible.

12
Remanys 12 points ago +12 / -0

At this point, I'd consider the cops a part of the mob. Literally no reason to fucking raid their home and steal their guns other than to purely let the mob fuck them and their house up. The cops saw easy prey to steal some guns and took it. Try taking some guns from a patriot and watch how fast the cops radio for backup and help from swat.

2
KiltedTailor 2 points ago +2 / -0

In this View, thee and I agree in Total. The cops are in on the mobs side; we have seen it over and over again. The cops take orders from the Communist leaders, and do not have the sense to say 'SOD OFF' to the Governing Officials. BUT, I need to add a caveat, it seems many are quitting rather than be pawns to some Mayor. That is both good and bad, as it leaves room for more of the cops of the like of Mo-ham-id Noor[the one who shot the Aussie woman}, and the police force becomes that much more depraved.

Its too long to write here, but for your enjoyment on a cold winter night, read the History and evolution of the US police force. Hint, the US colonies would not support a Jail, and left criminals to the Power of the Church rather than the State.

kensai 0 points ago +1 / -1

The issue is that if it starts from a talking perspective you would literally have to push off an officer, draw your weapon and hit multiple officers that are in close quarters without them stopping you. It's a bit of an unrealistic scenario. The only thing you could do is open fire when they approach, but how do you know they are coming to take your guns at that point? Seems loosing your guns in a boating accident is the best way forward.

Hope they know to purchase several 30 rnd PMags for life saving events.

30 round amend2 AR mags are stylish, reliable, made in the USA. And $10 + tax & shipping.

2

Thanks, Pede. I will definitely try them out.

2
Cuck-WTF 2 points ago +2 / -0

They also have 34 round extended Glock mags for like $17-18.

Wonderful product

3
I_Love_45-70_Gov 3 points ago +3 / -0

Cool; however, hammers over striker fired is my preference, so I run an HK.

2
Cuck-WTF 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm a Ruger fanboy myself, but the Ruger PC 9 charger has a Glock mag adapter come with it.

2
I_Love_45-70_Gov 2 points ago +2 / -0

HK is what I'm most familiar with, unfortunately they are very proprietary and have little to no aftermarket support for various models.

The thing works every time, which is all I really want.

Ahh, who am I kidding? I want all guns.... muhahaha!
