While my parish increased Adoration and Confession... most priests hid in their rectories for the better part of two months. Sorry for not being clear.
God help them if they might need to serve lepers one day.

Were you hiding in your home then? Was your workplace functioning? Was your State Government functioning?
What we knew in March is not what we knew in July. If you want someone to blame blame the Federal government who advised everyone they had to be on lock down to save lives.
God help them if they might need to serve lepers one day.
And God help you with mercy on that day when you stand before him who knows every secret and weighs everyone with perfect knowledge.
While I understand priests in their 70s sitting tight... I’m seeing a lot of young priests in their early 30s hiding from their flock... statistically they have more to fear from getting in a car or a thunderstorm.
AP deliberately writing a hit piece against Catholics because people don't know how Church ministries are structured, and you guys fall for it.
To be clear, a Parish is an employer of all the parish school staff. They're on the Church payroll. So when a Church does not get collections for Sunday, that means the School closes. When the Church loses that much, they cut back on other local ministries like food pantries which have their budget operate using parish staff to do book keeping, managing, ect.
These things represent support of basic fabric of your local community social support structures.
I'll wager 90% of these 'loans' went to funding their beloved ILLEGAL ALIENS and defense funds for predator priests. If you're going to argue about the article, be diplomatic vs telling me to SHUT THE FUCK UP like a LIBERAL.
Did the PPP get written to deliberately exclude Catholics and their ministries from loans and grants? Was it not the intention for that program to support local communities that are supporting the basic social services?
Take for example schools. Were private schools to be written out of the support from the PPP? If not, why are Catholics supposed to be excluded?
Do you even understand how the Parishes and convents support and manage things like schools, daycare, hospitals, food pantries? What all that infrastructure represents in your local community?
You say "shut the fuck up" but you post in ignorance about what the PPP was for.
Mischaracterization from AP, through you a further mischaracterization, a bigoted telephone game. The center is for "accused priests," not convicted. Roger stone has not been the only person whose ever had a vendetta set against him. There have been cases of priests falsely accused. Cardinal Pell comes to mind as a famous example. The center is to house those accused, not convicted.
ILLEGAL ALIENS
Not in the article, but food pantries might cover that, however that covers all groups of poor people
Shut the FUCK UP. My kids go to a church-backed daycare. The fucking daycare almost closed because of this bullshit but because of a PPE they were able to stay open. How many of these Catholic Churches do you think used these funds for nothing other than not closing their services (like schools/childcare/food kitchen/medical care/etc.)?!
You're totally ignorant if you think that AP's characterization is trustworthy.
Media always lies, it might be true in a sense, but what they wrote is true in half. Half-truth
The Catholic religion is not only said to be "Same Body," its a very large and very diverse organization that has many autonomous entities that function on a local level within it.
A Parish has its own bank account. A Parish bank account is not the Vatican's bank account. It is not managed from Italy. Its an Autonomous thing.
If a Parish operates a Catholic Institution like a Parish School, that has daycare for children, then all those things are connected to the parish and the health of that parish. If the Parish gets 20% collections, it won't survive and thus the other institutions won't either. A School will have to close, and all those employees go on unemployment. Then kids have to go to public school and liberal indoctrination.
You don't realize that what the AP is doing is a deliberate hit piece.
Now we know why cowards bishops shut down mass without a fight.
Got their money... screw the faithful.
Did your Church get money from the PPP too? I'll bet Catholics weren't the only religion that applied for those loans.
The Catholic Church is my Church.

I was going to the grocery store every day.
I was going to pray fairly often too.
While I understand priests in their 70s sitting tight... I’m seeing a lot of young priests in their early 30s hiding from their flock... statistically they have more to fear from getting in a car or a thunderstorm.
Disgusting

We should have stayed open... perhaps with social distancing... and sued.
And Catholics get singled out among all the other religions out there.
Ok now Bishop, there's your task to be point man against the Federal and State Government, in March knowing what we know in March.
Hmm... let me look in my Rolodex.
Here it is Little Sisters of the Poor.
Perhaps they can give me a referral to a good attorney. You act like the Church hasn’t been unjustly targeted before.

LOANS.
No, under certain conditions they’re grants.
The churches were shut down too.
They don’t pay taxes, they have billions. The Vatican is encrusted with gold. Disgusting.
They do not, you don't know anything. Vatican is in Italy and did not get the PPP loans
Catholic Church did...same body! It’s disgusting.

Whats it like being the butt boy of liberal media?
Anti-Catholic Trolls in here. Loads of other non-catholic religious organizations got those loans too.
Are you saying ,"schools, parishes, food pantries, hospitals" are not supported in the PPP because they have religious affiliation?
What was the PPP for? GM? Banks?
