Is anyone else puzzled and/or confused about the apparent goal of testing everyone for WuFlu - sorry, "novel coronavirus"? Why don't we do that for other viral infections?

Given the permeability of the nasal membranes and their relationship to the blood brain barrier (I'm not a medical professional, so this is speculative), it seems that shoving a swab up somebody's nose could just as easily introduce things into that environment as collect samples from them. I mean there's a reason a lot of drugs - notably inoculations, are done via nasal aerosols.

Not that I don't trust governments... though they do occasionally do things that cause me concern, like condoning rioting and anarchy, but why again are people everywhere waiting in lines for hours to be tested for an illness that for most people has no real consequence except for violating their civil rights for a few months, and maybe turning them into zombies or democrats?

The most benign explanation I can come up with for the supposed need for "universal testing" (rumored to be the precursor for mandatory "vaccinations") is to collect DNA samples. This has pretty obviously been somebody's goal for some time now, and one can only assume that it leads us back to that same "someone's" quest to create a master race... of useful idiots.

the news can't keep fear mongering if we stop testing everyone over and over

It would sure be refreshing if that were the extent of it, but I'm skeptical.

I'm not getting tested even if Trump himself wants to give it to me. Fuck the test, fuck the vaccine, fuck everything about this.

I don't understand why they need a sample from that far back at all. if it comes from "droplets" then why not swab just the inside of the nostril like a ZICAM swab, or hell, spit into a vial? Why does it HAVE to be the far back of the nose?

Could be, but maybe we should be wondering just how small they can make microchips these days. I'm guessing small enough to be imbedded way up somebody's nose without anyone noticing.
