Twitter is basically his magnifying glass. When he says, "maybe we should look into this..." it means they've already done it, they're just waiting for the right time to execute. Hes just planting the seed in the public's mind because the media wont do their job.
Imagine you are Trump and there are 500,000 government employees who hate you and are ready to sabotage you and CANNOT BE FIRED. You have hundreds of people you CAN appoint and you have to get started immediately. What do you focus on? The top, obviously.
I'm sorry, but the keyboard warrior approach here just isn't realistic. He was under fire from all sides from the beginning.
Again, whoever was eligible for a firing should have been. That did not happen. The career bureaucrats are sheep; they have pensions they aren’t going to throw away. Despite their politics they wouldn’t be insubordinate on a large scale. But instead, their bosses remained.
Yes, but you gotta find people to replace them. The available store of pro-Trump forces in DC are near zero. If you go with nominal Republicans in DC, the chances of them sabotaging you after they get hired are high. If you go with total newbies, maybe you have some folks to choose from, but they'll get rolled by their staff because the staff are non-fireable civil servants who are part of the 500,000 who hate you.
The swamp is dark, broad, and deep. Floating a few canoes on top doesn't get you very far.
I've been trying to start a campaign for Trump to replace Chris Wray at FBI with Sheriff David Clarke. He'd clean the mess up at the FBI. He doesn't take shit, and plus, we really miss him in Wisconsin.
Do you know how hard it is to fire government employees with civil service protections?
November 4th is gonna be a massacre.
He will play it this way until then.

Trump should’ve fired everyone under his power that could be fired on day one.
It took Trump 2 years to realize there is no compromise with these people.
He should’ve known that long before he came down the escalator.
Easy to say, almost impossible to do.
Any previous political appointee could have been axed.
They're a tiny fraction of the problem.

I don’t disagree; but he did not see that.
