As if Native American tribes, African tribes, etc. weren't all fighting for land and resources before they got conquered. It just so happened that Europeans invented the power/technology first and were able to conquer greater swathes of land. No doubt other tribes/races/nations/etc. would've been happy to conquer non-natives back then had they access to the superior technology.
