The US has seen another 66,528 infections in the past 24 hours, a record for one day, and a total of almost 135,000 deaths since the pandemic began, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

They NEVER represent the data accurately. They use poorly defined “infections” for a day, then list numbers of “deaths” (also poorly defined) for the entire span since last year... it’s pretty bad.

Yeah if you look at excess mortality for each state, most are just under a few percent of normal...some as much as 20 percent higher than normal...but vast majority hovering around average.
